Ah. I had looked at his facebook page but didn't see anything... the facebook search makes sense. |

Crime is all over the place there now. |
You have no idea what you are talking about. |
|
Just FYI, sounds like the camera system in the building may have been down the day this happened. The police MAY have been able to pull information/videos from a back end server, but it was explained to building residents that the videos were not accessible at the main front desk the day this occurred.
Terrible. |
| Arlington is very safe. Most people killed know their killers. |
Ummm so where did this guy work again? Because this is sound more Jason Bourne-conspiracy by the day. |
Oh dear. So to clarify, the video was down just that one day? Or the video system has been down for weeks/months and they didn't bother to fix it? |
There’s an uptick in crime in Arlington. How can you ignore it? |
The police and building management weren't very forthcoming about details. The one guy was pretty adamant that if he had "camera stills" that he wanted the community to view, we would know about them (I read that as they don't exist). The building was pretty heavily renovated with construction mainly finishing within the last year. The camera above the entrance where I come home in everyday had plastic wrap on it up until maybe a month ago, my best guess is they just didn't have it setup properly due to laziness. I work at an electrical contractor company with a sizable security division and I'm planning on asking someone if they would have any guesses on some stuff. But yeah, very suspicious. If you think the cameras were taken down purposefully, whole new can of worms opens up. |
An uptick does mean ARL is the equivalent of SE. |
The first one is a shooting between parties with an ongoing dispute, no threat to the community. The second one happened over a year ago, dispute between known parties, no threat to the community. The third one is a suicide by a guy from Maryland who killed someone in Arlington over an custody dispute the victim had with the suspects affair partner, with no known threat to the community. The fourth one happened between known parties, no threat to the community. Further, a handful of cases with no statistics on historical trends in no way demonstrates that violent crime is increasing in Arlington, nor how violent crime rates compare to other communities. |
It shows that crime is increasing over time in Arlington. It doesn’t matter how or who did what, it’s increasing and little is being done about it. |
How many murders were there in 2018? 2017? 2016? How about 2010? |
“Arlington County’s crime rates have continued to fall for seventh straight year, with a few exceptions, according to a new report from the police department.” https://www.arlnow.com/2019/04/30/acpds-2018-crime-report-reveals-falling-crime-rates-except-drunkenness/ There were four murders recorded in Arlington in 2018, the same number as in 2017. https://www.insidenova.com/news/arlington/report-crime-rates-largely-down-across-arlington-in/article_f4db3ce2-74bf-11e9-9121-037cd18f7c43.html |
Have final numbers for 2019 been released yet? I haven’t seen any. |
