The point is that there is no reason for McLean, Bethesda or FCV needs to travel more than a half dozen times to play games in in other regions.

The model needs to change so that 95% of games are local. Regionals and nationals are relevant but only if under one club. There is no need to have three or more different leagues with their own national playoff system.

Why should they change the model? They have plenty of paying customers. If you want what they offer, pay the price. If not, play NCSL or one of the other local/regional leagues. It sounds like you want the benefits but are unwilling to pay the price.

There is no product available for kids that really want to pursue high level soccer unless you are in striking distance of a funded boys Da. Market for it is too small and too poor. oh well. deluxe faux high level soccer is all that is available for purchase.

Ah I see. You want someone to train your star child for free. Doesn't really work like that here, wish as we all might. Probably never will either.
Meanwhile deluxe faux high level soccer will continue to feed a two time World Cup champion USWNT.

How so - every single player called up this month is a pro with one college player. Does not appear faux igh level youth leagues have anything to do with it.

And where do you think those pros come from? Invariably from pay to play programs.

All youth sports are pay to play. Not all are super deluxe. Alex Morgan was not playing super deluxe ecnl as a kid

Alex Morgan is the 99th percentile example of someone with speed and so fast that coaches pour all of their resources into to get them technical skills. She is not the example you want to use. She freely admits that to get better she needed to play with and against the best.

Having said that, the Friday and Monday showcasedays are silly. There is no need for this. It is simply convenience for the tournament directors and college coaches at the expense of the kids and their families (miss school, miss work).

Bollocks. It's a handful of days over an entire year of school. Live a little Karen.

Not sure who Karen is but yes we do live a little and take the days off. I just think that part is silly, but we do it anyhow. I said silly, not a tragedy or some huge deal. Anyhow, my kid loves it.

Morgan did end up playing club soccer. Just not at the younger ages. To get better, yes you must play against better competition.

And you are good old CCL guy.

You know the parameters of the league. The showcases are the point.

Just pull your kid out of it already.

Yes, you make a good living off of this. We get that. You are correct that forking over our checks means we accept the terms of the leagues.

It does mean we are like the terms of the leagues or get to give up complaining about the terms of the leagues or give up on advocating that the terms of the leagues be changed.

I dont think we are the ones crying in a youth sports chat forum. You are the one offering no defense of how all this silly far flung travel helps the players. You just lash out like an angry snowflake.

Don’t participate. Your kid won’t be missed and another will take her slot.

You know what the terms are. You know what the commitment is. Shut up already.

My happiness is not the issue here.

Don't be a door mat. The players love it. the payers dislike the nonsense and rightly so.
