When does the new children’s museum open?

that's the children's science center, which i think has less of a chance coming to a fruition. They've been working on that for maybe 15 years. i was a member of the junior league of NOVA 10 years ago and i thought they should have dropped it then.

the children's museum website now says opening in Feb. 2020.

i stand corrected. the children's science center is now open in fair oaks mall. it looks decent despite being in a mall. and it looks like JLNV did drop it.

Is there an actual human connected to this museum that people can reach out to for an update? There's a generic email address I've sent multiple emails to but. don't think anyone reads it.

Did you also try the phone number listed on the site? Any luck?

I can't post a link, but a few months ago, Channel 4 did a piece about the museum and the director gave the reporter a tour. If you go to www.nbcwashington.com and search "children's museum" there's a video there from maybe November or October. You could get the director's name from it and maybe see if she's on social media.

I paid for a family membership 3 months ago and emailed them to ask about an update (since they are supposed to "open" in February) instead of answering my question whoever responded said they would send an update soon. WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?? UTTERLY RIDICULOUS TO TREAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE PAID $$ LIKE THIS.

My DC has a field trip there later this month.

They have not passed inspections and have probably had to do a lot of tweaking. I would not hold my breath on it opening in the next two weeks.

Actually, when they closed the original location, the bigger and better museum was supposed to open years ago. (I want to say 2007, but I may be off.)

I’m wondering because it’s been pushed back a few times now and the website says opening February 2020. With only 10 days left in February I would have thought a date would be posted by now. I’m betting it will be pushed back again
