Why do you wear makeup, OP?
Why does your son think you wear makeup?

Lots of women teach their sons and daughters that women are not okay naturally as they are.

So dads who shave their beards are “teaching their sons and daughters that men are not okay naturally as they are”???
What about deodorant?
Toothpaste?

Slippery slope pp...

I think you are right to dissect it. Saying those things without a filter is a phase but he'll internalize it. Plenty of boys have made nasty comments to girls or to each other when someone isn't wearing full make-up. It isn't ok.

My mother, a former model, went out of her way to not wear makeup at home. She only put it on for work and explained using her theatre/dance background that lighting is different for work so basically it was stage makeup.

She also never said anything negative about anyone's appearance and our father never made comments, either. He was affectionate and complimentary no matter what, always focused on character and effort. If we ever said anything then it was shut down immediately we were lectured at least once per parent on it. Some were deeper into philosophy than others but it worked.
