OMG truer words never spoken, in bold above. I’m married to a Giants/Mets fan. We have been to almost every Giants-Redskins game here since we met 25 years ago and tons of Mets-Nats games. No one ever hassles him just for wearing the other jersey, and he always does. We’ve been to multiple games for our teams in NY and Philly and get hassled constantly, and no, we don’t even wear jerseys in Philly, because that’s taking your life into your hands.

Folks in Philly will beat the Hell out of a fan from an opposing team. Philadelphia fans are hardcore and violent. They do not play in Philadelphia. If you dare to show up in a bar, hotel, or at any of their sporting events wearing an opposing team's jersey, then they will give you Hell.

We went to a Phillies game over spring break (they weren't playing the Nats- we just happened to be driving through and stopped for a game) and I was really hoping no one would see the small W sticker on our car and smash in the windows. All was well.

Nats fans are awesome. DC as a sports city however is incredibly lame. I’m in Arlington and you’d have no idea a series was just won. No flags, car flags, signs nothing. It’s like everyone here failed spirit week. I’m from Pittsburgh and even in the far flung suburbs there is spirit and support for our sports. This is lame!
