| The MC teams show up at all the tournaments, so give them credit for that, they play all the other big clubs from Maryland, so credit there as well. And they take their beatings very well |
Agreed. They are doing the right things for player development. |
What do you mean? Are you joking or do you mean that they run a good program but just can't seem to be competitive? |
Disagree. The organization is not working for the players and these talented girls get stuck because there just aren’t a lot of options if you live in MoCo and don’t want to drive to Howard county or Virginia. Bethesda and NL just don’t play in the same tough brackets as MC so they are stuck. |
So you will agree, then, that MC is still the best choice for the most competitive player who wants to practice in Montgomery County? |
| I think this illustrates that if you’re child lives in MoCo, and is talented, don’t waste her future on MCElite |
What would you recommend as an alternative? |
| Pride, Capital, even Metro, are all stronger. If your DD is just playing to keep a stick in her hand to stay ready for HS season, then MC is fine. But looking at that 2023 team, they don't look ready for varsity. |
What about at the middle school level? Where do the Capital players come from? |
| Stars and BLC. The best MC players also leave come high school. All you have to do is look at the scores |
but what is being done among MC Elite leadership to improve? Surely, it can't be hard to understand that not everyone is able to travel to NoVa/Howard/Baltimore for a lacrosse team. |
You and I sound to be in the exact same boat.....I am hoping Bethesda sees these posts and confirms they will continue to up their club program..... |
| MC has no leadership. Hence the problem |
| Stars 2024 blue team is very good. They were good last year and added some strong players to the team. They are not at the level of m&d, but then again no one is at this age level. |
Can you expand on the problems they are having that are affected by poor leadership? It looks like they are filling most of their rosters. Do they need a better system to recruit coaches, because based on the conversation here, it seems there is some inconsistency with team competitiveness. Some teams good, others not so good. The problem is that the teams that are not great are already in HS...is there anything that can be done to rectify at this stage of the game? Maybe they are playing in the wrong divisions? Players not placed on appropriate teams? (A vs B) |
