Ranking girls middle school club teams

A few questions -

1. How do you manage that? Where in MoCo are you coming from? Does the team have weeknight practices? That just seems like a lot on weeknights.

2. How is coaching so much better? What are they doing differently up there?

I am also very curious to know these things. I can definitely see how it may be worth it. Please let us know how you have been juggling it all. Is traffic terrible?

In Baltimore, a breach birth is when the lacrosse stick is at a 90 degree angle to the fetus.

Not only traffic but does the parent (the driver) work? Do they have other kids? How does school work get done?

Just guessing as I am post 10:11 above...so in the same boat and wondering.....but I think a "Baltimore" club is likely Hero's or another based in Howard so maybe the travel is not quite as bad as we expect? Still a trek but maybe not quite that bad? again....wondering so hopeful they will share their experience

I guess if your kid is so good they are not getting much out of the clubs here, it makes sense, given you have the time (one parent doesn't work) and no other kids to shuttle around. I'm having a hard enough time navigating the traffic around the DC metro area getting my kid to practice twice a week. I imagine the child could do homework in the car? Who knows, but glad my kid isn't that good

I live in Baltimore. It is much more common to see dc area girls on high school teams since there is no longer a club spring season. Even then pretty uncommon for teams outside of m&d, Heroes (both of which practice in Howard county, at least half the time) and Skywalkers (which tends to have more attrition issues and adds more new girls than other teams).

Another weekend, another tournament.....what is going on at MC? Looks like the Next Level 2027 team isn't working out as well as anticipated either....

2027? 5th graders? I think the jury would still be out on a team formed for 5th graders.

Agreed.....simply noting this because many girls from MC left to go to Next Level.....

Well, then feel free to look to the 9th graders. Combined, the two teams in that grade went 0-8 yesterday. Granted the A team was playing in the strongest bracket, but they got completely blown out by Pride and the three other teams they played. It was hard to tell exactly why it was so bad. On an individual level, they have a few talented players, but something is just not working.

That is really interesting..... but what are the other options? It seems to me that the talent is there..... just the coaching or structure needs improving? Not sure what the answer is....

I've actually seen this team play several times this season (and it was a lopsided victory in the other team's favor) The team doesn't seem to have any major problems, maybe they have a different roster this season and the girls have to get the chemistry right. Maybe they lost some talent to Capital? The times I saw them play was to a team generally predicted to win that matchup.
