Nonsense. Again, the single largest country of origin for new comers is from El Salvador. The percent of new 'international' arrivals from El Salvador is double that of the next country on the list. We all know the country has a huge influx of illegal immigrants coming here from Central America and from countries like El Salvador. The planning commission likely purposefully makes no distinction between immigrants coming to the county who are legal vs those who are illegal. It's a strategy to try shut up all discussion on the topic, because if they mix in illegal.immigration with legal immigration and call it 'international movement' you can obfuscate the true numbers of people arriving here illegally and can hide just how much economically it is costing the county to have to do things like increase school capacity and provide ESL fld those arriving here illegally. My father was an immigrant. My wife is an immigrant. They came here legally. I'm all for legal immigration, but I'm not completely blind to the fact either that illegal immigration can cause school and healthcare systems and their resources to be strained to the max. And those residing here who are higher earners will be expected to pick up the tax bills.

This thread is not about President Trump, and it's not about building the wall. And neither was the rally in Rockville today. This is about Montgomery County not dropping a dime to call ICE when they have a bad guy in custody. Plain and simple.

? The single largest group being from El Salvador doesn't mean that the majority of foreign born are illegal immigrants, which is what you stated.

37% of foreign born are from Latin America. Even if 100% of that 37% are illegal immigrants, that data point alone indicates that illegal immigrants are not the majority of foreign born.

I'm an immigrant. My DH is an immigrant. The majority of our friends are immigrants. None of us are from Latin America, and none of us came here illegally.
