And this ranking is a lie. Yet, most won't dig deeper.
PDA won the most national titles (just an example) BRYC is not top 25. Not even top 50 |
The criteria for points for overall club champion is clearly stated in the ECNL Handbook. The rankings are not a lie. |
BRYC is tied #24. |
Interesting to refer to a Top 25 ECNL club as the league/region punching bag. |
If anyone is honest, BRYC is NOT a top caliber club. They have a good team in the Girls 03's, but did not make the Champions Division in the National Playoffs at U13, U14, U15 and the older teams did not perform well in the Champions division. But there wasn't a club in the area that did well at Nationals at more than 1 age group though in ECNL or DA. It appears this regions clubs are equally mediocre with some clubs having slightly stronger teams than others. |
Please provide your criteria of what makes a "top caliber club". Making a subjective observation is fine, but meaningless. Likewise answering with "PDA" is equally meaningless. |
A top caliber club, IMO, is one that has championship level teams (qualify at a minimum) at EVERY age group. Getting to the championship level, IMO, makes the club top caliber. Now winning a championship is harder to do as there are so many variable, but those that can win at multiple age groups AND do it more than once, well that makes a club one of the top in the nation. The DMV area doesn't have one of those and PDA as is mentioned would be one of those National level top clubs. |
| Not a parent of a BRYC player but BRYC has a very good reputation especially considering until recently their never being in a top league. I don't think there is a club in the area that has done more with less than BRYC. |
WOW shots fired !!!!!! Every BRYC parent just got that sick feeling in their stomach. What do you mean my kid isn't talented ? Reality check your DS isn't the next Pele . |
Does BRYC have a large player pool? No Does BRYC produce quality teams? Yes So in spite of not having a huge player pool to draw from and being surrounded by McLean and Arlington the club seems to produce quality teams. They do more with less. |
PP is arguing they’re trending downward very quickly. |
It's in Fairfax. I would not argue Arlington is close. Maybe BAC, Vienna, Chantilly, NVSC, SYA - all of which are closer to BRYC. |
Sorry, I didn't realize that all of Arlington players lived only in Arlington and that roads don't leave Arlington. |
You stated 'surrounded' by Arlington. BRYC is NOT surrounded by Arlington. Nor are they trending up. Next years merger will impact them. |
When quality players are looking at DA or ECNL clubs near them they are surrounded by Arlington and McLean, not Vienna. And exactly what merger? |
