Metro United

Thanks PP--still trying to figure out if we can sneak over --does my dd wear a disguise? For the record we did not have this kind of strife with our son. Also wondering if some of the clubs will have scouts to make sure their players are not there. Don't laugh this has happened before. I know someone whose kid got burned by that. Anyway--if anyone can report back. Thanks!!

You can either wait until right after you get your offer from other team or your can take the fact that you don’t have offer from other team yet as justification to attend session now.

ok one more silly question - I thought they changed the year for girls DA to start at U14? Is it still U13? SO 2007's will be fully DA next year? Or will they be considered pre-DA?

The U13 (2007) age group is a pilot program. It is in our region of DA but not nationwide (which means showcase situations are different for that age group.) Honestly, that's fine, because college coaches are not looking at girls at U13 anyway, so it saves you $$ in travel.

This is correct. For girls they only have U13 DA for our region.

They will likely be phasing U13 DA out for both girls and boys. So the 08s will have to play on 07 teams or wait until they are U14 to play DA soccer.

Looks like “Metro United” is definitely official. GFR site has DA registration page for 19-20 year.

Any other specifics on ID sessions? Were there a lot of girls there for 06/07? Looking good?

It's also officially on the GFR website because they are the elite arm of GFR. And apparently you can just click on the link, pay 3600, and accept a spot. No need to tryout. Just saying

Honest question as we assess options for our DD. Any new 04 or 03 players trying out for Metro United? Girls who haven't played for Washington Spirit VA in the past?
