Yes, and that is why you have one. It works like that. If you would live in the area where everybody has Land Rover then you would be writing about it here now but clearly you live in an Odyssey area and that is not exactly Iliad material. |
I don't think that's been true since the early 2000s. I classify as from stodgy Wasps and Volvos haven't been common among them for a long time now. The frugal ones now mostly drive Subaru Forresters. In the 1980s-1990s Volvo wagons were insanely popular for this particular cultural group. I do like Volvo SUVs. The XC60 is a good midsize one. Not wild on the latest model, however. I'm also 39. And my age cohort and younger generations don't seem to care about cars so mostly get Hondas and Toyotas or the CX9. Doesn't matter if they're lowly paid non-profits or BIGLAW partners. |

| That Audi station wagon with the big engine is popular around here. I think it's a huge waste of money but you might like it. |
No these are just the family vehicles. What do the dads drive? You'll probably see them in BMW, Mercedes, Audi sedans. |
| No idea. Got a Volvo XC 70 (?) years ago when pregnant with 1st. Had endless problems with it. It was safe...when it wasn't broken down or in the shop for a check engine light or light fuse issues. Traded it in at year 5 and never bought another one. Honda SUVs and Audi SUVs from then on. |
+1 Q5 3.0T is a wonderful car! |
Do you know how much changed since? |
| Volvo is superior to BMW audi crap. There is no need for more than 4 cylinders, volvos are supercharged and turbocharged. There is also the hybrid one that has 400 horse power. It's the german slayer. |
Thanks I am looking into it as well. It has some good points to it. Price point one of them. |
