I was at the Shawn Cassidy concert also in Baltimore and I absolutely remember Queen opening for him....I’m 51. |
Where was the concert? Maybe call the venue and see if they have a record, or even a copy of an ad poster. |
It was 1978 and Virgin opened up for him. That was my very first concert. |
Lots of info on Virgin here:

I have the same memory from The Rainbow Music hall in Denver. I’ve been called a liar on this one, not trying to impress anyone but it happened |
The opening band was Virgin and they opened their set with “We Will Rock You”! I yelled “it’s queen!” And my sister never let me hear the end of it. lol |
OMG! OMG! Yes! |
The opening band was Virgin and they opened their set with “We Will Rock You”! I yelled “it’s queen!” And my sister never let me hear the end of it. lol ---This is the answer. I saw Shaun at the Capital Centre outside of DC in April 1978 with Virgin -- and they did "We will Rock You" and had us all stomp. |
I saw him in Indiana, and I can tell you until right this moment I seriously thought it was Queen that opened for him. Odd that so many of us can have the same faulty memory of that concert! 53 btw. ![]() |
I was at that concert. Don't remember a thing. Thanks for the memory, made me smile. |
Same age as y'all, though my parents never would have let me go to the Cap Centre to see him. But I did check him and his family into a resort where I worked 20-ish years ago, so that kinda made up for it. ![]() |
Off topic, but speaking of fairly famous bands opening for other bands, I saw KISS open for ZZTop at the Capital Center. Me and my buddies thought they were bizarre, but crap. Actually, I still do! |
He’s on Twitter. Maybe just ask. |
Maybe it was the Bay City Rollers 🤪 |
