Yep, even some Rs didn't want to fund the border wall. |
Didn't Trump boast about being a great negotiator? What happened to the Art of the Deal? |
President Obama gave amnesty to DACA people. That sent the message back to Central America that we will take their kids and let them stay indefinitely. |
Republicans only had 52 seats. They just didn't have he numbers. It was DEMOCRATS that didn't want to fund the border (shocking I know) |
Why would that be an issue? Needing 60 votes is only an issue when there is a threat of veto. The Republicans had what they needed, a simple majority. |
Some Rs don't either. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/01/15/republicans-spent-two-years-resisting-trumps-border-wall-what-changed/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.49d0f8d931d8

Fake news. It wasn't a priority for the Rs either. No one wants Trump's idiotic wall except for the diehard MAGAts. |
Republicans only needed 51 votes to pass a bill for border wall funding. Trump wouldn't have vetoed it. The Republicans have no excuse. Wasn't a "crisis" for them then and therefore can't legitimately be one now. |
This. We need common sense immigration reform (guest worker program, better visa tracking (since that is the largest source of undocumented workers), DACA deal (with no amnesty for parents), common sense border security - especially at ports of entry) - not a wall. |
It's ok. Clearly, the PPP is unable to decipher big words and graphics. Not surprised at all. |
+2 Still can't comprehend why the U.S. is left footing the bill for the care of these people - especially their medical care, as so many of them are terribly sick when they arrive on our soil. Where is Mexico's responsibility in all of this? |
Those who have zero intelligent rebuttals always tend to try and weasel out of it by attempting to be witty. It's not working for you. -DP |

Not sure what you're getting at. Is it the NYT or Washington Post you have an issue with? Because both sources published similar articles on this crisis. You clearly just don't want to hear it, so maybe a letter to the editor(s) is in order? ![]() |
