This sounds like drugs or alcohol were involved

It happened over two days. If drugs/alcohol were involved, then at some point, they were sober. Then they went back to do more damage. That is seriously messed up.

Praying for these boys and for a GP acceptance...

The Gonzaga leader said “each student has been issued consequences commensurate with his involvement.” Those consequences, he wrote, “mark only the beginning of a longer process for students to reflect on their actions, learn from their mistakes, and make amends consistent with our Christian ideals.”

GAG me. Please. Daddy will pay off the property owners and the boys get off scott-free to go reflect and pray.

Outrageous. A simple fist fight was enough to get students expelled at my Catholic HS. What these students did is criminal level vandalism/destruction of property. Expulsion should be just the beginning of their consequences!

Who knows whether what PP claims is even true or just trying to make Gonzaga look bad.

I heard expulsions for sure.

I am PP and I haven't heard anything. I have no idea what is isn't happening. But the way the earlier person put things gave me some pause (beyond this is anonymous so you never know) about the claims being made.

What “claims” are you questioning? If it’s about the incredible damage they did, go read the Washington Post. This wasn’t some “stealing the other team’s goal post” prank. This was disturbed, criminal, destructive behavior.

The claims that the punishments have been inappropriately light, at least in part because large donations have been made - not the underlying damage.

When it's white kids, there's always a reason, ie "drugs, alcohol"
When it's black or brown kids, it's because they're black or brown kids.

Funny, I haven't seen anything posted about the race of those involved.

I like your spirit. Let’s pretend no white kids were involved for as long as possible in a school 80% white.

I never said no white kids were involved. But it could very well be a mix. The bigger issue is neither you nor I know, so speculating is useless.

If there are expulsions, it will 100 percent be only because staff came forward and the Post wrote about it.

So...were any of these fools actually expelled after TWO days of rampant destruction of a home where someone actually lives?

NP. I know. It was almost entirely white boys doing the vandalizing.

If there were donations which is speculation, how much money would there be?
