I just don't understand why do you have a dog? So he is in a crate almost all day apart from a walk? So, till 6ish on a normal day? See, my dog will walk to the door when he needs to go outside. Think about your dog being in agony for maybe hours, because they do this only if unavoidable. You are a terrible person.

Again , please read. The dog is not crated during the day, only for short periods afternnon or evening, and not every day.

Wow, you guys have serious reading comp issues! It’s stunning.

Actually, you have very bad communication skills. If everyone is misinterpreting what you wrote, it is probably on you. You also sound like you are living. If you work from home and the dog is only crated 2 hours a day, why on earth are you not letting the dog out more? Why woukd you not have let the dog out right before you left? You are making the dog hold it far too long. Just because it has lasted that long does not mean it is not uncomfortable.

I always offer the chance to eliminate before crating.

OP, even if your dog is not crated that much, 3 chances to use the bathroom per day is cruel. No, your dog doesn’t need more “walks” per say, but a chance to at least pee sometime between 2 and 10 is reasonable. Just because your dog has managed so far doesn’t mean it’s good for your dog.

Please please let your dog at least pee around 5/6/dinner time. Also mine has to poop 30-60 minutes after eating, doesn’t yours?

This. I currently live in a SFH so it’s very simple for me to open the back door and let my dog out many times. However I used to live in an apartment, and at a minimum, my dog got 4 bathroom breaks. Before work, after work, around dinner time, and then in the evening before bed. Please note I say and a minimum. I often took my dog out two times in the morning, when we first woke up, and again about a half hour after she ate and before I went to work.

Your post is not clearly written which is why there is confusion.

Thanks, but he’s a large breed and has never had any trouble with this schedule. 7am, 2pm and 10pm has been his usual walk schedule for at least 3 months now. We also often leave him in his crate at around that time, for that length of time.

I’m worried he’s sick, or that the frozen sausage was too much water and made him pee? Although to me the latter seems far fetched because he often drinks when released from his crate in the evening and doesn’t go out until 10 anyway.

Probably has been mentioned upthread but my guess would be urinary tract infection. What color is his pee?
