Painkillers for 14 year old

At midnight on a full moon, go out and look for chunks of quartz crystals.Take the first one to glint the moonlight off of it and use it to slice 10 sprigs of dandelion(and some hemlock for
good measure).

Once you return, leave these plants on the windowsill overnight. pour yourself a bowl of only the finest crystal clear water from the very top of mount Everest and allow the quartz to sit in it until exactly 12:34 PM and 56 seconds.

At 4:44 PM the next day, perform a ritual sacrifice of your dearest pet. If you do not have a pet, use your youngest child. take three drops of blood straight from their aorta and swirl it into the bowl of only the finest crystal clear water from the very top of mount Everest.

Chop the herbs up until they are in 1*1 cm sized pieces. Boil the bowl of only the finest crystal clear water from the very top of mount Everest until it reaches exactly 394.261 Kelvin. Then add the herbs and mix well. in 10 minutes, take only the finest crystal clear water from the very top of mount Everest off the heat and pour approximately 19.6 mm into a small cup.

Leave this cup in the freezer until it's at the point of nearly freezing but not quite yet frozen. drive out into the country and look for the first albino cow you can find. Force the liquid into its mouth. Wait until the cow has managed to absorb the magical liquid into its bloodstream, then slice its head open with a machete.

Extract the brain and fry it until it is thoroughly cooked. Take it off and serve with a smattering of breadcrumbs and a honey mustard schmear.

I love the fact that there are posters on this board both crazy & gullible enough that you felt the need to put “/s” at the end of your post.

Agreed.

The "Midol Complete" formulation consists of:
Acetaminophen 500 mg (pain reliever)
Caffeine 60 mg (stimulant)
Pyrilamine maleate 15 mg (antihistamine)

With a unique combination of three active ingredients, Midol Complete relieves many of the pesky symptoms that come with your period. ... So they depend on Midol Complete for maximum strength acetaminophen to relieve pain, caffeine to help reduce bloating and fatigue, and antihistamine to help alleviate water retention.

However, if you want to just take Tylenol then also give her some coffee. It does make a difference.

HOWEVER, 600-800mg of Advil is a freakin' miracle drug. If you are concerned about dosages, talk to the doctor, but get her some help.

I do not suggest the Tylenol as a first choice because it doesn't work on the mechanism causing the cramps; ibuprofen does.

I'm not sure about Aleve (naproxen), though it's another NSAID and may work much like Advil.

Naproxene cause long term liver damage. Stick to Tylenol. If you are against any medication at all, then make her a milky cup of coffee and add 1/4 tsp turmeric in it. it will relieve inflammation but you need to take turmeric in warm water or milk every three hours or so, to keep the pain at pay.

Seriously, Tylenol is safe.

No painkillers, that’s insane. Put her on birth control. My mom did when I was in 9th grade due to awful cramps. Didn’t have any more after that.

Yes, this is pretty obvious.

Wow, that's a lot. I don't even remember the last time I actually took Advil according to the instructions, but four at a time is about the limit before it starts causing stomach pain. I wouldn't do 6.

Also, I am flexible with ibuprofen both in amounts and frequency as long as it's just for short durations (no more than 3-4 days), but acetaminophen? Not even once. I follow those instructions to the letter. That stuff is no joke.

Also to the gynecologist. I always had back pain, and didnt even figure it out until a few years later when a friend on my sports team said, "Your back always hurts right before you get your period!" I was clueless! Anyway, turns out my uterus is tilted (a common thing), which can cause the back pain. Gyn can do an exam, talk with DD, and make some suggestions. There is a birth cotroll, SSeasoniqe, which is 12 weeks, so you get your period 4Xs a year instead of 12. I couldn't live without it. The 4Xs a year I do get my period, I LIVE on Advil, actually taking 4 every 5-6 hours.

And, had back labor for 1 of my 3 labors. Talk about excruciating, I thought I was going to die! 2nd was regular labor, and I didnt believe it was real (so mild I thought it must have been Braxton Hicks) and we barely made it to the hospital. For #3, regular labor again

Possibly embarrassing but: I’m a 40 year old mother of two who has a tilted uterus (learned of this only during pregnancy) and I have always had back pain during periods and I had NO idea they might be related. I actually always thought everyone got back pain during periods. Is this definitely true?

Interesting! I used to get HORRIBLE period cramps due to endometriosis (now am on the pill and have no period THANK GOD). Did not realize how Midol worked, I always used advil. Wish I had realized that when I was suffering.

Another reason the OP is a complete dumb-dumb is her daughter could have endo. If she is having horrible pain, she really should be on birth control at the very least to eliminate the cramps. if she does have any endo the cramps are so incredibly awful. I suffed for YEARS thinking this is just what women had to endure.

I spoke with my doctor about it when I was a teen.

He prescribed something similar to 3 Advil. For some reason I forget the name of it.

Maybe naproxen?? But idk.

For whatever my period was pretty painful as a teen. It’s mostly fine now.

Yeah, I am PP, and things may have gotten more conservative since then. FWIW I never felt stomach pain. Also the 6 was only for a severe bout, not any long term solution. OP should definitely check w/ pediatrician

I had to beg for Tylenol, my mom was worried I'd turn in to a drug addict. These days, I pop a pill for anything and everything. DD on the other hand, refuses to take any OTC pain meds, so I guess it skips a generation?

Anyhoo, Aleve changed my life.

NP here and male. I give my DD ibuprofen if she asks. In my opinion, she should not need to ask. My wife is against pills in general, thinking you can't just pop a pill and feel better. (if she has a headache, she tries to wait it out. If I have one, I take meds right away). telling is I am on 9 prescriptions: 4 for cholesterol, 1 for diabetes, 2 for the heart, one for stomach acid and one because you get depressed with all of my ailments.

Tylenol also causes long term liver damage.

But popping the recommended dose of anything for three days a month isn’t going to damage your internal organs. Damage comes when you take high doses daily for years.
