| I've actually never smelled pot. The only smells I notice are urine and "metro smell." |
|
I smell it daily. Downtown. I walk up 12th from Penn to E. I regularly see people blatantly smoking joints as they walk.
I find it just as awful to be caught in a cloud of it as I do cigarette smoke. I’m asthmatic and try to move away from the person as soon as I can. |
Oh my, how did you ever survive? |
| I live in Woodley Park and smell pot all the time, as do my kids. In the past couple weeks, I've smelled it in Tenleytown, Georgetown, and Cheese y Chase. Those of you who don't smell it are not paying attention. It's everywhere. Doesn't really bother me though.... |

| So what is Bowser trying to do and what's her motivation? What annoys me about DC is if you give an inch people take a mile. That's why I respect NIMBYS - they look at the next 3,4 moves beyond the one under discussion. I give them credit for preventing or slowing a lot of bad , unintended consequences. Not this pot situation tho. It seems like a lot of really kind hearted people were just duped. The law I voted for is not this. |
So reading through four pages of this thread, this appears to be the situation in a nut shell. Residents of DC were sold decriminalization and received non enforcement. The classic give an inch and took a mile because apparently MPD has been told to find other priorities. Once again the DC voter was duped. |
What exactly are MPD’s priorities? Unlike most police dependents, they don’t seem very interested in traffic enforcement and safety, either. |
| I smell it all the time, probably several times a day. I live in CoHi and work on the Hill and it’s omnipresent — on metro platforms, in grocery stores, walking down the sidewalk, and especially driving—sometimes I’m behind a car that reeks so badly it’s overwhelming. I’m old enough to remember when it didn’t stink like this. I enjoy it myself but vape. I just don’t get why you’d want to set off a stink bomb around yourself....sigh. |
| I smell pot so often that sometimes I have wondered if I’m just imagining it. I’m glad I’m not the only one! I walk the 600 block of H St NW in Chinatown to go to work and sometimes I think I’m going to get a contact high. |
A judgmental stoner. We need less of your insufferable type in DC. |
You need to get outside. It’s everywhere. |
Feel free to move to Arlington if it bothers you that much. |
|
I smell it everywhere too. It is so strange to be driving down the road and suddenly be overwhelmed with the smell even though the windows are rolled up. I can never figure out which car it is coming from, but once I swear it was the postal truck in front of me. And when you have to stand in line with people who reek of pot, ugh. Nasty. Not nearly as bad as cigarettes, but still.
So gross. |
| I live in the ‘burbs and brought my kids in for the Caps parade. At the parade, you could smell weed every ten feet! It was insane! Plus a guy came through selling pretzels and pretty much got mobbed Hahahaha. I haven’t lived in DC since they legalized marijuana, and it was a surreal experience all around. But whatever, to each his own. Everyone was certainly very pleasant that day! |
