+1. Grande racist, that pastor is. |
|
I’d give it a 5 out of 10.
Too many men are pervs and think they can do anything they want. |
You’re disgusting. |
|
He's calling it not intentional - how stupid do men like him think women are?
|
| I don’t think the Taco Bell joke was racist. She is Italian. It was inappropriate for him to be shading her at the funeral, though. And definitely disgusting of him to grope her. There was no reason for him to be touching her at all. |
Very stupid. That is part of the overall misogyny. |
You are missing my point. Black folks will take care of the pastor - believe me. It might not be public but many, many people were upset by what he said and did. |

Her bronzer and spray tan were noticeably darker than usual.
Personally, that doesn't bother me. The kardashians play up their makeup depending on the event or marketing of products, too--and that's fine. I mean, women should be allowed to use makeup however they like. But it was noticeable. |
Not racist? What if a Latino pastor quipped that Brittney Spears sounds like an appetizer at Cracker Barrel, or Cardi B sounds like something on the menu at Popeyes? It was a racist comment based on her Latina-sounding name. It doesn't matter that she is Italian. The intent was to make fun of her name and what he thought was her ethnicity...by drawing a link to Taco Bell. |
Similarly, white folks will take care of white folks who say and do stupid things. But that's not the point. The point is that all of society must collectively feel outrage and publicly call out inappropriate behavior in order to change things. There's another thread about Giuliana Rancic returning to E. She lost her million dollar career because she made a stupid joke about Zendaya's hair smelling like weed. She made that joke on a show whose purpose is to make jokes about celebrity fashion, and she lost her career because of the public outcry. Why? Because it was deemed racist. Now, as a white person, I'm confident that weed transcends race. As someone who has hippie potsmoking friends who have dreads or wore them back in the 90s when many college kids did, I'm confident that dreads and braids transcend race. Yet, G lost her career. While white privilege exists, that doesn't mean that only white people are capable of saying racist things. And there is definitely a higher tolerance for inappropriate comments from people of color. White people are held to a higher standard when it comes to racism and sexism. They just are. I doubt this pastor will lose his career over his racist comment uttered while literally groping a woman's breast in public on film. Of course, nothing would please me more than to be proven wrong. |
It has been! Go read something other than DCUM. |
That joke was insulting to anyone with a Hispanic last name, and to every woman regarding of last name. |
AA poster calling it out. I recognized it immediately. Thanks for playing. |
White people are held to a different standard because racist systems benefit you. You are in the position of power. White racism has a much more detrimental effect, while at the same time, so many of you can't see it or refuse to recognize it. Stop with the false equivalencies. |
Yeah, I think I agree. Groping is a pretty strong word, but I am on the fence on whether it should have been used in headlines or not |
