Are you only reading DCUM or other outlets. DCUM doesn’t have a heavy AA voice. |
Couldn’t disagree more. She looks SO uncomfortable. Other than saying “please stop touching me” not sure what other cues she could have given. |
| What?! His fingers were digging into her breast! |
What about height difference causes a man to repeatedly squeeze a women's breast? Sorry men, you're moronic excuses don't cut it anymore. Don't pay the stupid card. |
+1. I cringed seeing it |
You are delusional. |
AA here and plenty of ppl I actually know don’t think it was funny. That minister is ignorant and offensive. However, you have to realize DCUM isn’t heavily populated with AA so what are you trying to gain with your questions and assumptions? Go find other AA and ask them if you are that concerned instead of posting on a forum with a heavy white voice. |

Hard to say. She’s tiny, so maybe his hand was reaching around farther than he realized. He was talking to a crowd, too, so maybe not even giving conscious thought to his hands.
Unless she comes out and says that in her opinion he was deliberately groping I would give this one a pass. |
I'm not putting the onus solely on AAs. Whites, Asians, Indians, Hispanics, etc. could have pointed out the racist comment which was front and center in the linked clip. But it took several posts before anyone mentioned it. I think that's because people are less likely to call out racist comments unless they are made by whites. |

Black people following this on Twitter called this out right away. And in fact I think one of the first outlets to really highlight his touching was an AA one.
Honestly, the Taco Bell joke kind of went over my head I thought it was distasteful because he was basically saying he didn't know who she was, I didn't make the racist slur connection. Ariana did get called out on the dress but many people called out the groping. The pastor has apologized. Faith Hill's dress was appropriate for a funeral. To the poster who said the funeral was weird, you need to get out more. Everything that went on (including inappropriate pastors) is very much in the Black church tradition. See Twitter for extensive commentary on why Black folks enjoyed this funeral but still won't set foot in church regularly. #ArethaHomegoing The pastor's eulogy was also highly inappropriate. He is still being raked over the coals for it on Twitter. |
No, you are if you think DCUM represents AA voices at all. Other outlets with AA voices have mentioned his behavior and are making it clear they are not happy with his behavior. The minister has actually come out and released an apology. |
We will take care of him. You take care of white folks that make inappropriate comments. |
No, you specifically mentioned AA in your comment on a mostly white message board. Other white ppl have called out his behavior on this particular message board. You clearly are not speaking with other races or reading other sites bc plenty of AA have called this minister out in his behavior as soon as it happened. If you want to see more then read more. |
Thank you! For those of you who are complaining, go read something other than DCUM. |
But I suppose that's the point, right? White women have primarily led the me, too movement...calling out bad behavior of primarily white men in power. And white people regularly call out racist behavior. Any inappropriate comment by a public figure or covered by media is quickly called out over social media. But this incident hasn't prompted the same public outcry, right? Maybe it will. It certainly should. That comment was ridiculous and should be called out by everyone. |
