If Jeong had been imitating the rhetoric of her harassers, we would expect most instances of it to come in direct response to trolls. But in reality, she took aim at “white people” in standalone tweets on a wide range of subjects, from food to television.

This does not support your allegation that "She had years of anti-white tweets". For that matter, it doesn't say that "they were mostly offensive and hate-filled". I'll give you one more chance to support your allegation.

Wow. I couldn't stomach going through that entire batch, but the sheer volume of her tweets tell me there's more than merely satire going on. Someone who is just "poking fun" does not go on that extensive a rampage, and keep it up for that length of time.

And fine. Freedom of speech and all that. But she should not be on the editorial staff of (one of) the country's most prominent newspapers.

Actually most of those are clearly satirical. Some are very funny, I loved her tweetstorm about an app to help white people cook rice.

Clearly the problem here is that many of you have no sense of humor.

To be honest, I still haven't seen a tweet that in context was hateful. I think you need to consider your own reaction and maybe the thickness (or lack thereof) your skin.

Not my statement.

However, NYT and the Jeong have both acknowledged that she wrote them. Their defense is that they were in response to trolls. Perhaps, they were. Still, they are racist, in my mind. You may disagree. But, stereotyping is stereotyping and it is a double standard. But, this did go on for years.
