Lady, can you hear me? I am throwing my popcorn and Twizzlers at you from my crushed velvet seat as you speak. Get out of the house!

I did send an email to the paranormal society one PP mentioned earlier. We'll see what happens.... You've all got me freaked out! Wishing my DH would get home soon!!!

I think I love you.

We've recently cleaned out the garage and basement (ripping out old nasty carpet and throwing stuff away). And we're expecting another baby, so the nursery is getting fixed up. Part of me wonders if that's what's causing this. We hadn't heard much since we moved in nearly a year ago until recently.

What "issues" did the child have?

If you do have ghosts or spirits or whatever in the house, they will most likely be protective of your children.

I bet that's it.

The child was DH. He grew up in the house but never told OP. He's coming back to address some unfinished business and dragging his family in with him. What an evil jerk.

A few weeks ago I came downstairs late at night, looked around the corner and went **blink** **blink blink blink**. My FIL was sitting in our lazy boy and it was ROCKING. **blink** **BLINK** again and he was gone. Mind you he died in January.

This is truly one of the best threads I have seen on this Forum!

For those who had ghosts throwing things, can you describe in more detail? So interesting!

My mom always talks with her dead people. It freaks me out. She knows things because her dad or her mom will come to her to tell her things. Things like we had an aunt who died but her husband never told us. And then one night my mom came in and told us all that our aunt was dead. We finally pressured our uncle about it and sure enough, she had died. (okay it is also a disfunctional family but that is another thread).

I guess that would be a ghost, no?

When I was in the NICU, the nurses there told me about ghost sightings in the hospital, particularly near the Cardiology part of the building. Nothing other than sightings, though.

A former colleague of mine told me she had a ghost in her house. She said that sometimes when she went to a particular room, she would hear hangers moving in the closet, as if someone were looking for an outfit. Oh it's so creepy as I recall her telling me. But she said, one day, she confronted the ghost and told her that she needed to leave, calmly and nicely. She said she felt a wind and then it smelled like roses. No experiences after that.

I have never experienced a ghost, and hope I never will, but I have heard many accounts from many different people. I hope they do exist, as it gives me some hope that death is just a door.

I live in NW dc, home built in 40's, and I kinda wonder if there are ghosts here....or something I don't understand
like I'll leave one room in particular, turn off the light, come back later to pick up something and all the lights are back on....and this is when my kids are out the house
I also heard 'footsteps' in the attic, had the roofers seal up possible squirrel entrances, but still hear the steps....

I think it is kind of depressing. When I die, I hope I am surrounded by the ones I love, perhaps at the seat of God. Certainly someplace etherial. I don't want to be hiding out in some closet rattling empty hangers.

If you watch Ghost Whisperer and believe that's the way it works, then the only ghosts are those that have not "crossed over" after seeing the light. Ghosts stick around because they have some unfinished business.

I stayed at a friends house that was supposably haunted. She never heard or saw anything, but things would get moved around a lot. Her Mom saw a little girl quite regularly. Her Dad thought her Mom was crazy....until one day, he saw her. I slept at her house and woke up in the middle of the night and heard her dog outside her room panting. Then I heard someone walking down the stairs...I figured it was one of her parents...until it kept going on and on and then I heard the sound of footsteps above me. I got this heavy sensation and was frozen in place until it all abruptly ended and all I heard was the dog outside panting again. I woke my friend up, and she heard nothing and asked why I didn't wake her...but I was frozen and couldn't move!

Then I was at an ex's apartment. The place was always creepy and they claimed it was haunted, but my ex and his roommate were two crazy brits. So one day I was standing in the doorway to his room and he was bending down looking for something in his closet. All of the sudden (I am totally not joking), I saw a white glowing thing about the size of a softball fly from the window into the closet. I was like "what the F***?". He said to me "stop f***ing with me"...then we realized it was neither of us and we BOLTED out of there!

I also lived in an apartment with a graveyard right behind us. I never experienced anything, but my two skeptical roommates used to hear things all the time. We had an electronic toy that was off and one of them heard it laughing, walked in the room and still heard it...checked it and it was off. THe other roommate used to hear footsteps above us and laughter when no one was there. Many people in my complex have stories too...

If you don't believe...that is totally understandable. HOwever, when it happens to you...you will no longer be a skeptic. I never felt any negativity with these things...but they are still freaky experiences to have!
