h1n1 symptoms--how did they start?

How does the H1N1 first start? Do you have a fever or stuffy nose?

Pretty sure I have it now, but temperature is too low to be "fever" (just 100) but it keeps waffling all over the place! Yesterday, (about 4 days into the illness) I took Tylenol cold/flu meds and thought I was pretty well over it. This morning, I have a fever again and feel like crap. I am ambulatory, though - and obviously can play on the internet and cook and whatnot...I just have a horrific cough and periodic chills, runny nose. My child has it, too (he's four). Mild fever for two days and now just has the hacking cough and stuffed nose. I am treating him with lots (and lots) of cartoons.

This sounds like a cold to me. I have one, too.

My daughter and I have the exact same symptoms as the PP. My daughter's play buddy was confirmed H1N1 yesterday, so we had our daughter tested today. She is positive. Pretty sure I am too. But it hasn't hit as THAT hard. I couldn't go into work, but didn't have a fever over 100 and have just felt like crap for about a week. Daughter has no appetite but lots of energy.

The second day, her fever shot up to 102.5 and she had a sore throat as well plus still extreme fatigue. She is 3. I took her to Nighttime Pediatrics and she was tested and diagnosed with H1N1. Today is day 3 and she actually seems better -- normal temp today so far and not profoundly ill. I'll see if her temp goes back up after her nap.

My husband and I have felt mildly headache-y and sneezy but have no fever; we are thinking we got the "silent" variety and may not actually get sick.

This is my house too, minus the visit to Pediatrics at Night. My ped didn't even want to see them unless they were having trouble breathing or were in a high risk group. They're not. The adults in my house are also coping with a mild version waiting to go full-blown.

Our 17-year-old had flu they "assumed" was H1N1: felt like a cold in the morning, 103 degrees by that night which lasted 24 hours with bad cough and tight chest, 101 degrees for two or three days after that, recovery over on day six except for fatigue. No one else in household caught it, but with a kid that age, it's easy to quarantine.

I also had a low grade fever (never above 100) with horrible cough & runny nose. I am also pregnant so went to urgent care where I was told it was not h1n1. I took antibiotics for a sinus infection for week & am over whatever it was.
