Going on social media to disseminate lies about a candidate. Remind you of anyone? |
Amy Jackson was a teacher for many years. One of the main reasons I'm supporting her is due to her insights into how to build stronger schools. |
Voting against increased funding is not voting against ACPS. When ACPS proves that it can improve its spending patterns and do a better job with what it has then it should get increased funding. Wilson has proven by his actions with the PY issue that he cannot be trusted and that he makes bad decisions. He has proven by his actions that he has the personality where he would much rather be part of a small clique of cronies rather than representing the citizens of Alexandria. Why would we want to put him into the mix with a school board that already makes bad decisions? That would be incredibly foolish and would not serve ACPS well. |
The FP is correct. I can certainly see Wilson doing that. |
You’re delusional. So many school buildings are in a desperate state, and new facilities are required. A vote against school funding is most certainly a vote against ACPS. There’s no way to spin this. f |
As mayor of this city, Silberberg knew about the PYM issue. Period. Trying to pin this on Wilson alone sounds like a desperate attempt by a Silberberg crony. Also, you are woefully uninformed about ACPS’ funding requirements. If you are a parent of an ACPS child—and not just some Silberberg troll—I suggest that you get involved, maybe attend a PTA meeting. You can start educating yourself here: http://fullyfundacps.com |
Dp here. We have the Perfect Funding Storm in Alexandria due to decades of neglect on infrastructure, Old Town sewer outflow, stormwater, ACPS buildings, transportation, and current debt burden. I support ACPS and no doubt we need remodeled or new schools. I just ask ACPS to choose less expensive options and make the TCWHS, Jefferson Houston Elementary and Patrick Henry cost overruns not occur. Alexandria can't tax it's way out of the last 20 years of city wide poor planning and addressing. Similarly, cool heads need to rule on ACPS capital improvement budget and much more fiscal accountability. |
| What I find most interesting about this thread is that the Silberberg supporters are attacking candidate issues and the opposing candidate. Wilson supporters are attacking the supporters of the opposing candidate. That is very telling about the two camps. |
Well said. |
What lies? Are you denying that Wilson proposes eliminating public comments during council meetings? Because that's exactly and precisely what he's proposed. It's a 15 second Google search to confirm it. Kojo Nmandi put him to task about it two weeks ago on WAMU and Wilson doubled down and said that, yes, he intends to eliminate public comment during council meetings. Wilson wants to DENY THE PUBLIC THE ABILITY TO SPEAK FREELY AT COUNCIL MEETINGS. END.OF.STORY Why are you spreading lies? Christ, his supporters are gross. |
Silberberg is "against" ACPS? News to me. She's been to my kid's school multiple times to show support. Some of you should take note and be careful someone doesn't get your IP and sue you for libel. |
This. I knew I had heard it somewhere but I couldn't remember the source. Then it was written about in one of the locals. Wilson wants to be an autocrat, not a democrat. |
How very Trumpian of you to threaten a law suit. Says a lot about Silberberg’s supporters. Silberberg can provide as much lip service at you school as she wants. Fact is she was the only one who voted against the ACPS funding package. Go ahead and sue me for referring to her voting record. |
Actions have consequences, sweetie. Don't come crying when the dog you teased bites you in the face. |
Is this your first day in DC?
She voted against the package, not the schools. Try this-Do you have a smartphone? If so, you support child salves. See how that works? |
