I mean, of course adultery does not warrant the death penalty. But, let's also not cast her as completely blameless in this whole scenario. There's room for nuance here.

I'm from that area and have been reading local coverage, which has been describing the victim in very glowing terms.

Yet she openly had an affair with a married man.

While she herself was married and the AP was her subordinate. Paragon of virtue she was not. Thankfully, no kids were involved.

Her DH is a sympathetic figure now (though he was cuckolded). He is young, single, good looking, moral (at least the optics suggest he is the innocent party), established, influential, not crazy (he separated and did not shoot)...I think he will get married to a pretty young thing and actually have kids.

"Police say that the jilted wife, Jennair Gerardot, sent her husband a series of texts telegraphing her intentions. But by the time he arrived at Meredith Chapman’s home, it was too late."

Why didn't he call 911??

Late 40s vs. Early 30s

Hubby was testing driving a newer model.

Interesting fact: there do not appear to be any kids in either marriage. Thank goodness, but I'd also be interested in the reasoning behind that.

Yeah... Difference is pretty interesting

Wonder why this successful and pretty woman couldn't do better than being a mistress

Very sad outcome

It will be interesting to hear what happened in her relationship with her husband. Did they separate due to the cheating? Was he in any way abusive and hence she began cheating? I guarantee the police are looking into it.

You believe that the police are investigating whether the former husband of a murder victim who was killed my her affair partner's wife was abusive? Um, OK. Just how much free time do you think the cops have?

Woah woah woah - this is an interesting twist:

Jennair Gerardot sent a series of texts to her husband, Mark, on Monday in which she laid out how she planned to kill the woman with whom he was having an affair.

Sometime before 7 p.m. Monday, Radnor Township, Pennsylvania, police said, Jennair Gerardot of Wilmington broke into the home of a former University of Delaware communications official and waited for her to come home, then shot her once before turning the gun on herself.
...
When police arrived, Mark Gerardot was outside the house saying, "My wife may be inside."

Let me get this straight: wife sends unhinged texts, Mark shows up at house before cops, and then he says "Uh, I think my wife may be inside"? Fishy AF.

When were the texts sent and why wasn't 911 immediately called?

He was probably worried about cat getting out of the bag... and what it may do to his career/reputation in case his wife changes her mind

AP has weird eyebrows.

Because he did not care what happened to his AP, they never do.

I think they make a good looking couple. The wife is not ugly, and you don't really know someone until you live with them. He could have been a pompous arsenal, for all we know.

Thing is, my initial reaction was to feel bad for the cheating husband. Because clearly his wife whom he cheated on was crazy enough to murder and commit suicide, so she must have been crazy to live with. Sane people don't react this way. Sort of like how while I normally feel bad for the laid off postal worker, once he goes postal, you start to consider that the post office had a good reason to fire him.

Yep.

This.

For a couple that age, both are in good shape.
