Why would no one tell him off? He's not a baby but a child who can process some communication. Unbelievable. I would have scolded him, SN or not. There's something called common courtesy.

You have no idea what this kid can process. Telling him off would have only heightened his anxiety. His mother trying to correct him was setting him off. Please don't do this IRL. You'll make a hard situation worse.

Watch the video. What else would you call that except a rampage? It was certainly beyond a tantrum and it lasted 8 bloody hours not 8 minutes.

I have a child with special needs, so I have a lot of compassion for what the mother must be going through. However she should have known better. Book a super early or late itinerary, bring melatonin, Benadryl, whatever. iPad totally loaded and ready to go. Headphones. Tons of snacks. I watched the video and she wasn’t even trying.

This. I posted earlier but didn't mention that I'm also a SN parent! We have a lot more work to do than other parents, and that sucks. But you can't just not do it and to hell with the consequences. So incredibly entitled.

So? His parents put him in this situation. It isn't the kid's fault. It is his parents. People called him demonic because that is how he was acting and his mother was subjecting everyone to that for 8 hours.

Then they need to understand that their family cannot take an 8 hour plane trip. They aren't the only family to have to come to that realization. Age, illness, finances---all sorts of reasons that people can't fly for that length of time.
