OP here. Still doing it, online only and have lost 45 pounds. I have a lot more to go. It's been really helpful in helping me practice healthy eating habits. I have two little kids as well so some of our favorites are Tacos for the kids, taco salad for me Banana pancakes (breakfast for dinner) which for a family of four I use five bananas, 8 eggs, 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1 cup flour. Pancakes only 1 point each. Soups like black bean soup from Budget Bytes Spaghetti with lentil bolognese and sometimes spaghetti squash for the adults Crustless quiche with sides |
Amazing! You're my new inspiration. I'm trying to keep balanced and stress free about it. Focus on drinking water and eating veggies at every meal. Filling up on whole foods and not crazy processed snacks just b/c I can fit them in. I really want this to be long term. How have you felt about the free point foods? I like it b/c it keeps it less crazy about measuring everything like cucumbers. |
Yes, I don't measure veggies or fruit. Beans I keep an eye on but I'm vegetarian so there are times I eat more than 1/2 cup of them. Every morning I eat nonfat Greek yogurt for zero points with unsweetened applesauce and stevia. I do measure out one cup of that. I was very hungry feeling the first two weeks or so but I toughed it out and now I get full much sooner. It's very livable since there's nothing you have to give up but I do find it harder to go out to eat but it's healthier if I don't. Trader Joe's has a lot of good low point items. |
NP. I like the new WW; it's easier for me. I want to lose 15 pounds and have lost 5 (in 3 months). It's easy for me to have zero point days, which means no tracking -- and tracking is so hard for me. I am not a big eater, which helps, but I am a frequent snacker, so the new program helps me to snack on zero point food (HB eggs, carrots, apples, etc.) and that was my goal: to get long term habits. |
What's a typical 0 point day? Sounds hard...and very unsatisfying? |
NP here, and I have lost 30lbs since March on the new system.
I have never had a zero point day! lol, but I love the app, you can scan stuff at the store and create recipes and tweak them to get the points down! Good luck everyone ![]() |
another NP here. I have lost 18 in 13 weeks, with another 10-15 to go. It's definitely working for me. I'm already a pretty healthy eater, but once I have a splurge, I have trouble stopping myself from eating every sweet thing in sight. The points give me permission to have treats without overdoing it.
I also like how protein is valued over carbs, but I do think that the program undervalues fat in the diet. I know you are supposed to chose to incorporate healthy fats with your points, but there is no reward for doing so and i tend instead to hoard my points for dessert. I've gotten around this by giving myself permission to eat 1-2 tablespoons of healthy fats each day without tracking or counting those points. It doesn't seem to have slowed my loss. |
Yeah I think Weight Watchers doesn’t encourage a zero point day because you would eat too little fat and healthy grains. I think they recommend not going less than ten points below your daily goal which the lowest would be 13 points a day (23 is the lowest daily points anyone gets). |
I have lots of zero point meals- grilled chicke , veggies, and fruit; hard boiled eggs & fruit; grilled seafood, fruit & veggies. Etc. But I do zero point meals so I can indulge at another meal.
I have lost 13 pounds in 6 weeks. Going great and very easy to implement. Family is eating healthier as a result.. but I don’t talk about dieting or Weight Watchers in front of them. Just serving healthier meals! |
I'm going back on it tomorrow. I lost about 7 lbs in 4 weeks a few months ago, then over the last couple of months, put 3lbs back on due to tons of travel and eating everything I felt like- including deserts. My goal is to lose a total of 13 more pounds. I like the program because it's easy to follow, I can eat my favorite foods on occasion and it keeps me aware of my intake. |
I started 1.5 weeks ago and I’m already down 5lbs! My original goal was to lose 10-15 lbs. I was shocked when I weighed myself this morning! Had no idea it was working so well since I truly don’t feel hungry! I’m eating a lot more eggs, bananas, and fruit than I ever thought. My new favorite treat are srawberries and fat free whip cream. Now I’m 10 lbs from my goal weight. I’m pretty excited about this program!!!! |
I am down 13 pounds in 5 weeks. I have found that my best weeks occur when I eat all my daily points plus at least half of the weekly points. This is working really well and very manageable. Finding it easy in the summer because of all the fresh produce and grilling lean proteins! |
I’m the zero point day poster. Breakfast: 2 eggs and a banana, lunch, chicken breast over green salad, snack apple, dinner chicken breast w veggies. I dont do it every day, and I agree its better to do zero point meals, but I love avoiding tracking. |
