How about some integrity and respect for the process |
|
The thing is, Martin did follow the process as it existed at the time.
Back then anyone could ask for a special placement from the chancellor. Now anyone -- except current of former city officials -- can still ask for a special placement from the chancellor. Martin asked. Henderson and Beers granted it. She respected the process -- you just don't like it. |
Give me a break. It makes her a complete hypocrite. How is she supposed to tell any other out of boundary parent that they can’t come to Wilson when she herself got special treatment? Integrity would be never asking for the favor in the first place knowing it was a fundamental conflict. Just because something is permissible doesn’t make it right. There are plenty of other principals in DCPS that have somehow managed to get by without having their kid attend their school. |
Or she can tell those parents to seek permission from the chancellor, like she did. She doesn’t talk to parents about oOb attendance. MSDC does. |
Telling parents to seek permission would be pretty rich. They all knew that it wasn't a discretionary placement that would afforded to non-friends, as the investigation ended up showing. PP is right that integrity would be to not ask. Many well-connected people never asked. Follow the process laid out by My School DC. Deal with the results. |
| Right as this was breaking months ago Young’s wife had the balls to post on the Murch listserve. They are clueless and entitled. |
Obama’s former “education adviser” will be lucky to get a job raking leaves. |
Dr. Martin is a highly successful professional and educator. She has a very high powered job. People act like like back-scratching is some DC thing. The WASP power structure has been doing it forever. Are you saying that a top educator of color has no right to a little special consideration? |
Congrats on playing the race card when it’s completely unnecessary and irrelevant. Keep doing you! |
Wait what? |
It’s a perk, so what? Others have been doing it for years, but when it’s female minority professionals it’s not ok? Uh-huh. |
Special treatment for government employees is a "perk", and an independent investigation calling it out is a dog whistle. Good luck with that |
You must not be from ol” Deecee. You just can’t understand the way folks expect to do things here. |
| It’s intersting that the only people identified are persons of color. |
Interesting that they were the cheaters? |
