I kind of think that's what they want. Not to end like it did for those ladies, but the truth is the royal family benefited from the public's love affair with the princesses, though the love for Diana was longer. I think they wanted Kate to be that, but that's not who she is and that's okay. They need someone glamorouse that folks will love,a nd a story that will get people to buy into the royals again. Meghan kind of fits that. I also really think that Harry likes the attention of celebrity and at least for now Meghan does too |
she has chosen to procreate with a white man, her daughter will l grow up predominately surrounded by white people/white culture and like her mother view blackness as a charitable cause. She likely like Meghan have a whit husband and so on any children from their and all of Serena's legacy and funds will mostly benefit white people. Live vicariously through Serena and Meghan all you want but don't for a second think they are doing anything to change anything for black people. |
I feel the same whirlwind vibe about it, not mature love, but more passion the lure of something new and exciting Bloomds fast and fades faster. There is also Jr and Harry are a lot a like in personality. Imoulsivity drawn to a woman that will direct them a bit like an older sibling or mother figure. Meghan is like Carolyn in that I get a strong manipulative vibe ffrom her in that she is like Diana, but not unkind. |
Holy crap. That is a ton to unpack here. I don't have your lived experience but am a POC married to a white man and I don't think my life or my children's are devoid of my culture or erased from our identities. I think that interracial marriages and biracial children have their own paths however they identify. I simply disagree that anyone can define someone else as "white defined" if you don't live that person's same experience. |
Did you see pictures from Serena Williams' baby or bridal shower? No one can predict how the child will identify, but it's highly doubtful she will grow up surrounded by white people. |
This was definitely approved by the palace. In fact, it may have been pushed/encouraged by the palace. Meghan isn't promoting anything in this interview- her show, any side business, not even any philanthropy. There's not even much meat to the interview section of the article, other than the quotes about Harry. This seems to be a preapproved first stage in the media rollout of their engagement. |
This is BS!
Where's Harry's article claiming her. Talking about how much he loves her. Pathetic! |
Yeah, I changed my mind. I don't have anymore time for you. I don't know much about Meghan, so I won't speak on her. But I know a lot about Serena. I have met her a couple of times due to work and it's clear that you are just a trolling for a fight. I won't derail this thread talking about Serena. She doesn't need me defending her (although I will), her connection to her blackness has been quite documented. I wish Meghan and HArry good fortune. |
I think she's cute. She looks much younger than 36. She plays a woman in her 20s on Suits. She's an actress. Will she give up her career for Harry? Somehow, I doubt it. Most actresses are washed up by 40 anyway, so she doesn't have too many more years. Maybe she'll get a big movie after this. Good for her! And good for Harry! I think they are a cute couple. |
http://www.elle.com/culture/celebrities/news/a40611/kensington-palace-letter-on-meghan-markle-prince-harry/ He claimed her and defended her back in November 2016. |
I wonder what their kids will look like. I'm guessing freckly. |
I wish them well too. They are in love so I hope it works out for them. That said she isn't a black women, So BLack women like your self should not be trying to claim this as a victory for black women/black people. |
Not the same as a VF article. I'll wait. |
Like little white kids with dark probably curly hair and brown or green eyes. Is that enough for your mixed race kid fetish? |
You're right, it's not the same as a VF article. It hold much more weight than a VF article because it's on freaking Kensington Palace letterhead. |
