Then apparently Family Research Council, Heritage Foundation, CATO, Heartland Institute and every other right wing are also not "non-profit." Okay. Question still remains, "so what's your point?" |
Why? Because it doesn't espouse leftist views? Do better. |
They can't. They have nothing else |
I'm sorry are any of those "non-profits" called Southern Poverty Law Center and keeping their cash in off-shore accounts when people probably could use the money? If a U.S. Non-profit is receiving tax preferential treatment, let's bring "non-profit" accounts back to the U.S. I thought certain states were better tax havens now anyway unless something nefarious is going on. Things could have changed since I last researched this. If so, there are definitely better places than Caymans. Lol. |
People, c'mon, they broke the power of the KKK by suing them for damages--back when SPLC was relevant. Now they're just a leftist slander site, so of course they are protecting their assets. I'm not sure they've been relevant since we landed on the moon. |
It's OK. They're keeping their vow of poverty in other countries and offshore private banking havens! ![]() |
Great, you managed to link to a Daily Caller report which reports what Free Beacon reported. The essence of conservative media. Also the entire "outrage" is over garden variety investment funds which happen to be headquartered in other countries. These investments are reported annually on the 990T. https://www.scribd.com/document/357565292/SPLC2015Form990T |
Meanwhile from the 2016 annual report, the Southern Poverty Law Center invests almost 20 percent ($69 million) of its nearly $320 million endowment fund in offshore equities and other investments.

I can't tell whether you are ill informed or trying to spread misinformation. SPLC iis an anti hate group that tracks hate crimes and fosters civil rights. This is on their website vthey are not an anti poverty group. |
How the heck did they get that name? Southern Wealthy Law Center would apparently be more accurate. |
FFS this whole thread is insane. THey don't have millions of dollars in offshore bank accounts. If you read their disclosures and believe this, you are financially illiterate. |
This organization is a sham, IMO. Question if anyone can answer.......Do they list Antifa as a hate group?

It's been mentioned before on this thread. SPLC did good work in the past. Today, they are just another political action group -but are posing as an anti-hate group. They are very slow to deem any leftist group as hateful.
Once upon a time, they went after group that espoused violence. Now, they go after any group that disagrees with them. |
Never mind... I found the answer. They DO NOT list Antifa as a hate group. Shameful. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/southern-poverty-law-center-condemns-antifa-but-wont-call-hate-group/article/2633252 |
Not sure why this surprises anyone. They're a leftist organization which means they're all about do as I say, not as I do. |
