Stupid stuff- I feel like he's not helping me with the kids and keeps on his phone or "running errands". I'm sick of it. The other dad is so great with their kids and mine is an a-hole.
It's a beach vacation and we have a 2.5 year old (plus 9 and 13 yr old) so it's all hands on deck at beach. He had to run to Starbucks, run to Walgreens, etc.
Really!!! Can't you help me on the beach with the kids.
So I'm feeling aggravated at him.
Tell me how to act like everything is just fine.

If I were your husband, I would run as far as I can. And never come back. Seriously.

To the last few posters:
Why is it always the mom who has to suck it up? deal with it? put on a happy face and watch all the kids and do everything for the kids, while the dad ignores all of his parental responsibility and is a total slacker?

You never ever hear the opposite.

He sucks and needs to step up and be a responsible adult

Step one. Do not vacation with other families.

This is why we always take vacations alone, so I can bitch at my husband in private.

+1

That being said, assuming the 9 and 13 year old can swim and don't have special needs, I think one parent should be able to manage this. My 71 year old mother takes my three kids under 7 to the pool by herself. But there is no reason it should be the mom's responsibility by default.
