Good luck with any future noise complaints folks, MPD's management caved in. I expect officers will very hesitant to act on any noise complaints from now on.

And the MPD wonders why they can't retain younger cops...

She shouldn't have been arrested. End of story.

I'm glad I don't live in DC, I don't want to live in a city that kowtows to SJW lunacy.

This lady has a PhD, yet doesn't have enough common sense to turn down the music after a police officer tells her to turn it down, which was in response to a citizens complaint. She then spends an hour in a jail cell.

I'm pretty sure she left out the part where she was a total B*tch to the officer. She then whines via social media and all you sheep buy hey story....so lame. And the pathetic PD says they are going to make officers get the Lieutenants OK before making an arrest???? WTF

OP - did you also start the thread: Why so many racists at American?

I think if you could hear the music three blocks away and it took twenty minutes to turn off, thats a problem according to existing law. I was speaking with my spouse and we think one should e able to buy a permit for a party (maybe limited to one a year?). At times there is reason to celebrate and male noise (graduations, anniversaries) and a mechanism would be nice. I think we should change the law if we don't like it, but not pretend she didn't egregiously break the one we have now.

Its apparent she has no respect for her neighbors or neighborhood. When we have a party and have a DJ or band we always rent a restaurant or bar for the day or night. Why would we want to disturb our neighbors with all the smoking and drinking. Load music. Cars doors slamming. Outside talking. It just shows how ignorant some of these people.

What adult with 7 year old children acts like this black woman did? And what Senior VP of a company attends a party in a residential neighborhood where the music can be heard 3 blocks away? Was there a twerking contest too? Any mature adult would NEVER walk into a party like that. The hostess and the attendees acted completely uncivilized if this story is true. I wish she was still in jail.

The bottom line is this AA is incapable of being embarassed. If any self respecting adult had a party like that -- and none would- but if they did, they be would be humiliated and want to hide under a rock. Not write an article about how they were oooooopressed by the police.

This thread is ridiculous. If people are behaving badly they need to be called out. Does not matter what color they are. People will be assholes no matter what race or religion.

Close that party down/

People should go to jail for being immature?

I completely agree with. This woman fights for the right to do what she feels like doing and getting away with it.
And if not - "it's cause I'm black"

I agree with you. And if you live in a neighborhood with a noise ordinance, you either have the party during the daylight hours when noise is allowed or you rent a hall somewhere where you are allowed to have loud parties. But once you rent in such a neighborhood, you live within the rules or you work with the local officials to make exceptions before you host such a party. Is there some reason that they didn't host such a party from 5-10pm or 2-10pm? Is there a reason that they needed to start this at 9pm and violate the noise ordinance which started at 10pm?

So the woman blasts her music and then ignores a lawful order by the police to turn the volume down?! And then cries "wolf " -- or "racism" -- when she's busted right here in "Chocolate City"?! She seems like a piece of ... work.

The woman broke the noise ordinance. Do you know how loud you have to be before breaking a noise ordinance? That's pretty loud. Same with barking dogs. I don't care what color your skin is - if you are violating the law and I have previously asked you to keep your dog quiet and you insist on having your loud parties and yapping dogs, then I will call the politce to enforce the law. And that's what happened here. As to TheRoot - they will publish only one side of the story so bear that in mind when you read anything taken from it.

What is a race agenda? Give me a break. You should read it and learn something.

I've read the Root and they're about as credible as Hannity.
