Hogan will be easily reelected. No Democrat can defeat him in 2018

Ben Cardin for Governor.

You want a 75-year old governor?

Plus, no way does he want to give up US Senator perks for the aggravation of Annapolis.

Our POTUS is 70 years old, don't engage in ageism.

I think Senator Cardin would make a fabulous Governor, allowing for Baker or Brian Frosh to take over for him.

There is no way he would quit the senate and run for governor at 75. Senate is a better job.

Democrats make lousy governors. States can't print money like the Fed is addicted to. Progressive policies lead to excessive taxation and inevitable waste.

I will not be voting for Hogan again based on his actions and attitudes towards education. I have liked what he's done in some other areas, but the education issue is a dealbreaker for me, especially with DeVos as Secretary of Education now.

Why can't Hogan just switch parties? Why does he HAVE to be a republican?

I WANT to vote for him. I like him. If he was a Democrat I'd even be a campaign volunteer for him. IF he was a Dem.

But I can't vote for a republican, no matter how good they are.

Montana's democratic governor just got reelected, and he's pretty great. You don't know what you're talking about.

Seriously??? You're apart of the problem. Always caring about Rs and Ds, never the bigger picture (or in this case, the candidate). Grow up.

See, (imho) that's not a great way to think because I don't think we should not vote party lines. I think there are good Republicans like Hogan that are worth voting for over a lousy Dem. I know, I am pie in the sky, pollyanna, but I (try) to vote for the best candidate regardless for party line.

Maryland has a history of great moderate Republicans. Chris Van Hollen was a protege of Mac Mathias.

Hogan is not a great moderate Republican. He has no moral compass and can't even stand up to Trump on the Muslim ban. And he's been terrible on education issues.

I didn't say he was or wasn't.

I'm just pointing out the ridiculousness of the PP's no-Republicans-ever-ever philosophy, especially here in Maryland (and places like Massachusetts, as another PP mentioned). I mean, have an independent thought every once in a while.

I'd suggest saving the state the $$$ on the election and just swear him him next week. It's a forgone conclusion.

No one can beat Baker. No one.

Oh please, I am Democrat and I know this is not going to happen. I'm going to have to hold my nose and vote, because I don't like anyone who is running so far--and I am on the liberal side of the Democratic party. Maryland needs to get it together.

Agreed. The Democratic party establishment in Maryland is so terrible that they are self-defeating.
