Is it okay? I always tell the cashier to take a banana off the bunch and weigh it again to pay for the one consumed. They do about half the time.

I don't know why but this irritates the bejesus out of me. No reflection on people who do it, it just bugs the heck out of me. I think my father does it on purpose, drinks a soda, anytime I take him to the grocery store just because he knows I hate it. LOL.

When I worked as a cashier in high school, there was this mom who would routinely pass me the apple her child was eating so I could weigh it, double that and charge her. It was very gross. The grocery store I shop at now has a basket with pieces of fruit or bags of grapes and a sign that kids can have something from the basket.

So I probably paid for at least a dozen pint glasses in my youth. It really sucks to loose your tip plus some over people being drunk and stupid and stealing for the sake of memories or their collection of other stolen shit from bars.

Really? I've worked at several bars and restaurants, especially around colleges (lots and lots of bar glass theft!) and the wait staff has never been charged. I've never heard of that policy.

Former bartender and waitress here. We were charged. - NP

I worked at a place where we had a button in the computer to charge people for stolen barware.

Does it take six months to work?

Also, does the waitress get the money back, if it does take six months to implement this "system"? You know, does the waitress get mailed a $5. check?

I have really good health insurance and a chronic degenerative disease. I have passed along leftover meds to friends in poverty with the same disease who weren't receiving adequate medical care. But this was a family value I was raised with---we used to 'donate' our leftover asthma medication when we were kids to my aunt's husband who had asthma and no health insurance. It's technically illegal but I consider it moral.

I steal medication from people's homes when I visit - they'd never suspect me.

How would that work? Did someone count every dirty glass you brought back & compare it to the drinks you sold?

I used to live in sin with my girlfriend in Virginia which is a misdemeanor. We are married now so I suppose we got away with it.

When I worked at Outback years ago a customer called me over and said, "That lady at that table over there just put the salt, pepper, and Worceshire sauce in her purse."

I thanked her but didn't have the guts to call the thief out on it. Score one for her.

I have known several people who pride themselves on stealing all kinds of stuff from restaurants, grown ass women who otherwise think they are pretty upstanding citizens!

My great aunt would swipe everything from the table, including putting sugar, salt, pepper in a baggie THEN ask the wait staff to refill everything for use during the meal THEN swipe what was left.

When you work at establishments that have unique barware or names on the glasses where theft is prevalent they absolutely take count. Some dock waitstaff for missing pieces from their station. -not a troll

Someone has to end up paying for that.

The most illegal thing I have ever done is jaywalk... probably. Assuming, of course, that my analysis of certain loopholes has been entirely accurate, which, given the fact that I have no legal training whatsoever, is probably completely false.

However I think anyone willing to put actual confessions to crimes in writing from what is most likely their personal computer or phone is showing extremely poor judgment.

I'm willing to face up to any consequences that come from admitting to jaywalking, but much more than that and I certainly wouldn't be willingly incriminating myself for entertainment purposes.
