How about a 37 year old fit guy with a good job, doesn't do drugs, works out and views honesty and faithfulness as top traits to look for in a partner?

I'm 38 and still can't cook. I am ivy league educated and raise smart children. We have a housekeeper who is a killer cook. She does our laundry, vacuums and preps dinner 5 times per week. Maybe you can hire a cook like we did.

I only learned to cook when I decided to be a sahm for a a year or so at the age of 42. So, it's never too late Prior to that, my DH did most of the cooking since DH likes to cook. I did all the cleaning up.

Kardashians? Really? OP try Blue Apron. Both my husband and I like to cook, but we still do Blue Apron because of all the recipes we would never think of making. Tonight we're have a spinach and ricotta pizza with a cauliflower and clementine salad. So excited!

Because she died. Good burn. Hope you feel good about it.

A bit extreme, but I don't blame her for getting away from you any way she could

Since your so into 50s gender roles, surely you're making enough money for your woman to stay at home to tend to all the womanly duties, and you take care of everything financial so she never has to work a day in her life and you like a comfortable DC lifestyle?

Wow sounds like a real jack of all trades. The same immigrant who washes your toilet makes your dinner. Fancy.

I can't discern if this is OP or some other douche that keeps coming back to this thread with these comments, but if it's OP, no wonder you're single. You have one seriously poisonous attitude. Racism, sexism, classism, misogyny...everything wrong with this country all rolled up in one, what a catch.

People who use the bathroom also cook. You can wash your hands.

I follow the Instagram accounts of several single millennial friends and relatives and see that these are the women with the time to experiment with fun new recipes - I love to see the food pics that they post.

If anything, I've noticed that Boomer/Gen X women are the ones who consider it beneath them or somehow too traditionally feminine to cook well, if at all (see: Sex and the City).

As an urban dwelling gen Xer, I admit this this true. The only time my friends and I started taking any interest in cooking was when our children stopped breastfeeding and started eating solids. That made it necessary for us to start cooking at home. Before that it was dinner out or get takeout for all of us!

GenX here, disagree. I love to cook and bake from scratch. In fact, that's pretty much how I attracted DH, lol. All of my friends cook, too.

She actually does catering on the side. Makes those fancy cakes and pastries. When she cuts up fruit for our kids and their friends, the kids love the fun shapes and flowers she makes. We pay her a very decent salary. We originally wanted her as a PT cook only but she requested more hours and asked if she could clean and do our laundry so we got rid of our housecleaners.

Our old nanny was also an excellent cook. She still comes and helps out on weekends sometimes so DH and I can relax. It is nice to have a seven figure HHI.

Better than being married to me. Im obsessed with cooking and spend a ton of time in the kitchen. I make everything from scratch. Salad dressings, bread, granola, yoghurt and fermented foods to name a few. I probably drive my DH insane. He's hardly even allowed in the kitchen unless it's to do dishes.
