Ex fiancée was such a good cook. Is it impossible to find another 25-35yo woman w kitchen skills?

When I was dating many years ago cooking skills were not high on my list of attributes for a GF and then a DW. My DW is just an OK cook but I'd never tell her that. She has so many other great attributes that complaining about her cooking would be stupid. She'd say "then you do it!". I'm not that dumb.

I guess I must be worthless. I don't cook - my DH does all the cooking and the grocery shopping. And I let him know - all the time - how much I appreciate that he does that for the family.

But I do a hell of a job gardening, and if you need something fixed, I'm your gal!

If I listed everything their women couldn't/wouldn't do we'd be here all day. You're going to have to do for yourself. I have never in my life seen such highly educated women be so damn dumb and lazy. They are only good for a paycheck.

Sorry you're not good for a paycheck and don't have an education. No need to feel inferior.

We should be friends. I'm 32 and make everything from scratch. Cooking is my hobby. I enjoy learning different techniques and recipes from all over the world.

Do you follow Chrissy teigans snaps?

I think I enjoy cooking because of boredom. I hate eating the same thing, I'm picky about seasoning and flavor. I dislike poorly seasoned food. I have all types of seasonings from around the world in my kitchen cabinet. If I had the time I would love to pick a different country every week and cook something from the country. When my nieces and nephew visit me I tell them to pick a country and then I make something from there.

No I haven't. I do follow a couple of YouTube chefs. Is she good? I have to be honest I don't picture her as someone who can cook. I'll check out her channel.

I follow the Instagram accounts of several single millennial friends and relatives and see that these are the women with the time to experiment with fun new recipes - I love to see the food pics that they post.

If anything, I've noticed that Boomer/Gen X women are the ones who consider it beneath them or somehow too traditionally feminine to cook well, if at all (see: Sex and the City).

As an urban dwelling gen Xer, I admit this this true. The only time my friends and I started taking any interest in cooking was when our children stopped breastfeeding and started eating solids. That made it necessary for us to start cooking at home. Before that it was dinner out or get takeout for all of us!

Anonymous wrote:Bullshit. Foodie-ism is super trendy right now and has been for a few years. My last workplace was full of 25-30 year olds, and they were way into organizing office potlucks and bake-offs to show off their skills. I know more than one young woman in the DC area who maintains a food blog.

There is that trend, but it's a niche. 90-plus percent of millennial women think it's cute that they CAN'T cook. They actually think the sign of success is being able to afford eating out 6-7 days a week. It's backwards, it's vapid... it's the Kardashian cancer inflicting the culture.

Is this OP? Okay, again I'm calling bullshit that 90-plus percent of millennial women actively do not want to cook at all. Cooking is totally mainstream among millennials. If you really believe this, we can't help you. You're never going to find a woman who cooks.

Another late Xer here. I'm in this camp. Cooking is a necessary evil because people have to eat. I definitely don't enjoy it. Of course I'm also the opposit of the boredom PP - food is about the only area of my life where I don't get bored. I could pretty happily eat the same things almost every day and be fine with it.

Wow! Aren't you a peach? I'm sure your DILs have nothing but good things to say about you, right? You are perfect in every way? Gotcha...lol

You think all these feminist social justice warriors cook? LOL. You're delusional. They think holding a frying pan is misogyny.

And what else are men good for if they don't know how to cook, clean and take care of kids either, and judging by stats and dcum, there are plenty of men who don't do much of this at home.
