I remember that one. It does sound like the same kind of crazy

Can someone link the thread? I'm already entertained by the lunacy here, I would love some more. I need a good laugh

Thanks guys. Absolutely hilarious.

I do think it's the same person. At least I hope there are not two similarly unhinged parents in the DC area. But funny, funny stuff...

I started a thing years ago and it worked. 'If you order food and don't finish it, then you have to pay for it". Another thing "if you order sofa then you pay for it'. After one mestake they have never left restaurant food on the plate or ordered soda.

Was this at an upholstery store?

Isn't it usually like that?

Is it? I'm overweight and I don't want my son to be. I'd be thrilled that he stopped eating when he was full. I would never fuss about the amounts of food he eats. The pedi told me it was my job to give him healthy foods and his job to figure out how much of it to eat.

Being overweight, I would have asked for the box and probably would have eaten the leftovers myself.

You can and then slap yourself in the face with a pan afterwards.

You're sending a very unhealthy message to your children re: the food because you're basically forcing them to eat past when they are full so that they don't have to part with their precious allowance money. You don't get any praise or accolades. You're actually a very shitty parent.

When our kids were young we drilled into them, only water at restaurants because my DH is annoyed that drinks cost so much. He isn't cheap or poor but can't stand paying $3 for something that costs the restaurant 3 cents. So there is that. I have talks with my kids before they order, do you think you can eat that and a side and a salad plus an appetizer? I will make a suggestion to order the entree then if they're still hungry midway through to get a salad or an extra side. I can't stand wasted food. It isn't about the money for me but about the food going into the trash.

You sound like a total kook OP!

Take the food home. This is such an easy fix.

I just hate it when my kids order a sofa when we go out to dinner. We have so many leftover sofas I just don't know what to do!
