Yup. And when did the rather unacceptable term "colored people" become the very P.C. "persons of color"?!
Persons of color is inclusive of non-whites, not just African-Americans. Do you people ever read?

Nah, not really.

Where you send your kids is your business, period.

They don't need your sympathy. Do you always chime in a conversation without bothering with the facts? The video of the protest are not a video of African American students leading a protest. They actually look quite white and Asian. But like most of you people on DCUM you take every little opportunity to spew your judgmental ignorance towards Black people.

Where were the campus police and administrators and why were they not protecting the rights of the white and Asian students to cross the campus without walking through a creek?

It really does not surprise me any more that Trump is considered electable. We are heading towards a civil war and these fucking idiot college students will have just as much to do with the inevitable mayhem as any group of white supremacists in Kansas.

You failed. If you'd watched the video you wouldn't ask this question.

There is no diversity of opinion at Liberty university and the likes.

+1 the idea that Liberty et al are alternatives to Berkeley- laughable. Your best bet is a school like Boston College or somewhere like that.

But it's plain stupid, and wrong.

Most Latinos are white. And the majority of those who aren't are mestizo -- white/ indigenous.

To include us as "colored" feels like another example of Yankee cultural imperialism.

I don't believe Asians or Native Americans appreciate the "colored" BS either.

I couldn't agree more.

Nah, not really.
That is definitely believable!

This really makes me sad. Didn't we already learn what segregation does?

I don't understand this extreme left bully mindset.

What happened to 'do unto others'?

Could you please get back on the subject of the university or you can get a bigger response and crowd in the Political forum if you mosey on over there.

I'm also Jewish, and can't understand this outlook. Even liberal-leaning colleges encourage debate and (moderated) arguments. Protests can be a way of asserting your political influence on the world--just ask the folks of our parents' generation, or even my own parents--and shouldn't be discouraged on college campuses.

As far as I've seen, there is nothing of that sort at Christian colleges, and certainly one "right" way to toe the line. There's no way I'd send my Jewish DC to a place where he'd constantly be proselytized to and told he was wrong for his beliefs at every turn.

The main thing that happened was social media. where the cost of bullying others with few consequences declined dramatically. That, in turn, led to calls for social media platforms to be actively monitored.

That's what today's kids grew up with and now expect. The idea of free speech holds little appeal to many of them. They'd much rather prefer to have university censors monitoring behavior and speech, and sanctioning the creation of "safe spaces."

Wait a minute. I just checked on some facts. AA students make up a grand total of 2.8% of the Cal undergrad population. Less than one out of every thirty students. And yet some on this thread want to claim they are infringing on the freedoms of others at the school. I don't get it.

Liberals that I have met and tried to have discussions with are the most closed minded people.
Kind of sad they don't realize this.
