Whites at Berkeley blocked from crossing a bridge

No way would I let them block my path. Would have pushed right through. Fine if they believe in cause but not ok to keep me from getting to class when I paid to go

I'm embarrassed for the protesters.

That's like saying all whites prefer Donald Trump's train of thought that all immigrant Mexicans are rapists and drug dealers. There were many black kids who also decided to walk around instead of through the blockade.

Stop being naive. Just as URMS don't all look alike neither do all think alike.

I think those URM who walked around the blockade should have told their friends how silly they looked.

I don't understand your point?

Yup. And when did the rather unacceptable term "colored people" become the very P.C. "persons of color"?!
Persons of color is inclusive of non-whites, not just African-Americans. Do you people ever read?

And I didn't see any black protesters at all in the video. URM does not stand for black people.

Exactly. I saw very few 'the blacks' or 'there's my African-American' in the video.

Interesting. Maybe other white students who walked around should have told their white protestors how silly they looked.

A significant minority of the blacks at Cal are recruited athletes who don't have time for such BS.

But it's plain stupid, and wrong.

Most Latinos are white. And the majority of those who aren't are mestizo -- white/ indigenous.

To include us as "colored" feels like another example of Yankee cultural imperialism.

"White" is an increasingly meaningless term that is only kept alive by the extremists of all races who use it to promote various agendas.

Of the 5.550 students admitted in Fall 2015, 157 were black. Sorry to burst your bubble but the so called significant minority of 'the blacks' at Berkeley are not out there catching or dribbling balls.

The fact that some gay white dude majoring in gender studies and a Latina on scholarship who'll flunk out before she gets her sociology degree convinced some straight white and Asian kids to walk through a creek one day to get to class will probably be the highlight of their college experiences. So pathetic.

They'll probably become very good salespeople.

PaleoConPrep wrote:Berkeley is a joke of a college. It might as as well be called Cultural Marxist State University. I wouldn't go if they paid me to attend. Any White parents who send their kids to a place like this hate themselves and their kids. They are suffering from "white guilt" Blacks and other "oppressed" groups need to be told to shut up or leave the university. The sole purpose of a university is study. If you want to be an agitator, leave the university and agitate elsewhere.
Agitators come in all shapes, forms, races, and opinions as you well know and have yourself written. As you have disclosed online, I am surprised that someone as young as yourself has such vehement views about, well, everybody especially since you yourself are not white.

I hope you realize that in the future there will be internet searches as you seek employment, even by colleges, and depending where you work, these anti-everybody statements could hurt you. You're still young with disabilities as you have thoroughly outlined on the internet. No, not stalking but a simple one-time search unloaded quite a batch of interesting, personal information and opinions. Be careful what you say online, young man. This stuff can come back and haunt you in the future. You don't want that!

I agree that your public opinions should be heard here and any place else. But allow those with diametrically opposed views to be heard also. That's only fair.

I am Jewish and lean conservative. When my kids get to college age, less than a decade from now, I think they would be most comfortable at a Christian College. These colleges seem to allow a diversity of opinion, whereas others want to quell opinions that do not fit into the new-liberal model (vs. truly liberal....welcoming different opinions/discussion).
