Then you aren't real big law.

It's not the question. It's posting it with all the specifics.

Pp here. Don't understand the big deal.

One thing that is very open at law firms is the pay (at least for the associates).

Right, but OP is complaining about the pay and openly wishing for Cravath money. Huge red flag in terms of culture, fit, and expectations

Doubt a firm that requires some many hours for $90k cares about culture and fit. They just want you to shut it and bill. OP - that is crazy low. Consider yourself warned.

Wilson Elser, Jackson Lewis, and Littler Mendelson are not big law. They are big firms but pay compressed scales, are highly leveraged, and do a lot of fixed fee flat work.

It's true they are not big law, but my good friend is at Little Mendelson and is happy there, so it doesn't mean they are bad places to work. But she makes more than 90K.

Would she say directly to them
What she posted in her op? If not, then this needs to be removed.

I know someone at Littler who is also happy. Also makes way more than $90k. You don't have to be biglaw to be a good place to work (and many biglaw firms are not good places). But $44/billed hour. No! Sweatshop.

Why not? I would have told them that they are way below market and that I was expecting to be in a much higher range.

Then I hope she already did. I'd hate to be discovered the topic of conversation on a forum. Even if it's all legit, it doesn't feel good.

I think most of you expressing disbelief that op posted this are low to mid level associates - I remember that combination of narcissism and paranoia. But as a partner involved in firm management, I would not care about a post like this but I would think less of any associate or staff who wasted my time by forwarding it to me.

Op, there are much better places to do this research than a parenting board.

Pp who was on the hiring committee. I think most are not lawyers. Lawyers talk about money. I couldn't care less if a potential hire posted something like this.

When did the profession have integrity to begin with .

Well, this board IS full of hall monitors and narcs. Wonder how many of them became HR "generalists?"
