Got a biglaw offer, but the pay seems low

90k - ha! I make more than that in the federal government. Ha!

How do you think they'll react when they see this thread?

You're an idiot.

OP, I know plenty of big law partners who read this forum. You really don't sound all that savvy. Please don't take this job. They will eat you alive.

This must be a troll but I'm trolled.

Wilson Elser, Jackson Lewis, and Littler Mendelson are not big law. They are big firms but pay compressed scales, are highly leveraged, and do a lot of fixed fee flat work.

OP needs to spend less time reading ATL and dreaming about Cravath money and more time working

OP here. I doubt partners at white shoe firms sit around reading internet fora.

You think no one at the firm ever googles the firm? It doesn't have to be a partner "sitting around reading internet fora." It could be a secretary, associate or even client searching for something that has nothing to do with dcum and this thread could very well pop up. Today, tomorrow, a week or year from now.

How can a lawyer not realize this?

+1

People google their firms and businesses all the time and you've provided tons of identifying information.

Hi OP. I am the marketing/PR person for my company and I have a media monitoring service that lets me know when my company's name is mentioned online. Well, that and google alerts so my bases are covered. Anyway, if my media monitoring service (or a google alert) were to alert me to a thread like this, I would send to HR as an FYI. I dont know what they would do but the chances are good they wouldn't be pleased.

It's not the question. It's posting it with all the specifics.

Pp here. Don't understand the big deal.

One thing that is very open at law firms is the pay (at least for the associates).

Right, but OP is complaining about the pay and openly wishing for Cravath money. Huge red flag in terms of culture, fit, and expectations

I have a friend who works in the firm's Albany office....

I'm at a true big law firm in DC (an no, I'm not dumb enough to name them). We bring mid-level associates in at $150K or so. $210K? Keep dreaming.

Eh. If the firm lays below market, people are going to talk. Every lawyer there is likely planning an exit for higher pay if they have any options.

I'm a nanny without a fancy education & profession and even I know to change identifying details. Baby is napping, maybe I should make popcorn to enjoy this thread. Op you are not very smart so I'd take the 90k.
