No. We're pissed because this spectacle is showcasing the giant ineptitude of a man and campaign apparatus that has been nominated by a major political party to be President of the United States. Everything about this is just unbelievable wrong, from the sloppiness to the denials to the scapegoating. It's a farce.

Then, you will be REALLY pissed when he is elected.

We'll be pissed when he half-asses the presidency. There's not a lot that the president can directly screw up, but what there is, Trump will do it.

He is a salesman, not a leader. He sells, he doesn't lead or manage or run a business.

This is the key question!!!

Yes it is.

And I'm never gonna give it up, never gonna let it down until I find out the truth!

Not gonna happen. Which is why most of us are really just bemused rather than actually angry.

1) It wasn't plagiarism. Lots of people use those words.

2) It wasn't plagiarism. Something something Sparkle Pony.

3) It was plagiarism, but some no name Trump Organization staffer accidentally included words that Melania meant as inspirational.

Now, how do we explain then why Melania didn't recognize those words as lifted? How do we explain that there was already a draft speech that Melania apparently ignored?

More to the point, how many more "explanations" is the Trump Campaign going to offer.

+1. It's not just the plagiarism... it's the utter illogic of these explanations, one after another, as if they think most of America is operating at an IQ level a bajillion points under theirs. No we're not. And we're not buying it.

Well, given that some supporters still don't think it was plagiarism, I think the Trump machine does indeed believe half of america is dumber than they are.

It's not that hard, is it? You open up her brain and it's a mix of song lyrics, commercial slogans, and "inspirational" quotes that she has made her own. Like when she posted on Twitter "Always trust yourself, think for yourself, act for yourself, speak for yourself." I was waiting for the picture of her winking over a container of deodorant.

Agreed. Maybe Never Gonna Give You Up is Melania's favorite song.

Anonymous wrote:why is no one blaming Melania for lying about having written the speech herself?

"I read it once over, and that's all because I wrote it with as little help as possible,'' she told TODAY's Matt Lauer in an exclusive interview on Monday.

Because none of these people actually write speeches themselves and they are not expected to, and no one really believes them if they say otherwise.

Speak proper English. Y'all is not a word.

Maybe not for the liberal elites living in the DC bubble, but for those of us outside of DC, it really is a word.

Not in New York, it isn't!

But I thought there was nothing to take responsibility for? I thought these were "common phrases"?

They are common phrases. That's why the writer didn't even bother to go back to check and Melania said it with ease.

Millions of Americans work hard for what they want in life. Whoops, sorry Michelle for infringe on your patents.

Is that what your kids tell you when they get in trouble for plagiarism in school? Or do they know better than you what plagiarism is?

Anonymous wrote:Um, Trump did not fire her because it was not really her mistake.

Melania passed those words off as her own on the phone. That much is obvious from reading her statement. She can take the fall all she wants, it's obvious from the actions the campaign took (or didn't take) who really was at fault.

And so much for the idea that it wasn't MO's words. Melania totally had a little delusion going that she was the First Lady, that's why it got muddled in her head.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS!Thanks, someone for saying it.

The plagiarism has finally been admitted to and apologized for. Please stop pretending it didn't exist.

So what was the speech writer taking responsibility for? If it wasn't plagiarism?

Sorry Michelle Obama and her writers don't have a copyright for common phrases. Next time try to come up with something original like what Saul Alinsky wrote then we can take those phrases seriously.

Too bad you don't know the meaning of simple words like plagiarism. Suits your IQ.
