Why is media not calling him out strongly for using "Pocahontas" in name calling? Why is media not strong enough to say, Trump calling anyone racist is just amusing. I am starting to think may be he does not understand what racist mean.

Yes, Trump is a flaming racist.

He's in touch with his base.

Not believing the “family lore,” I mean lie.

Lots of people have family traditions of Native American ancestry, and do not have documentary proof. That does not mean they are lying.

Total tangent here--on 23andMe, there are boards devoted to this (not to E. Warren, but to this issue). Apparently, tons of people believe they have a Native American ancestor, but they get their genetic results, and they do not. It's some weird epidemic and I have no theory as to why this is.

As to Trump, it's using one word to convey an idea--it's a soundbite, if you will. It's perfectly suited to the mass medium of the day.

I'm now old enough to have enough of a comparison point from the past, so I feel like I'm watching the demise of the West. I try to take hope from in that even the middle-aged ancients were going on about the demise of their culture, so maybe it's just my age, and not so dire of a situation. My friend from China is not worried; she says American government is designed to survive an incompetent (or a variety of negative adjectives) in the Presidency (this label could apply to a few people, not just Trump).

Apparently they can't tolerate Trump's usage of words and the way he conveys his message, but it's perfectly fine for them to promote a culture of Kayne West, Kardashian, lady gaga etc. If you really think about it, all the attacks on Donald Trump have nothing to do with what he has DONE but on his brash tone. Yet Warren lied about her heritage and used that to get employed by Harvard. That action is racism by itself. Warren did a racist act.

Now you are lying. Does that make you a racist?

I am not voting for any of them for anything. But that is clearly the company trump belongs to - that of entertainers.

Its true. I am a strong Hillary supporter, but I can find nothing to attack about Donald Trump's actions in elected or appointed office.

Warren's native American claim is either a charming bit of family lore or a silly mistake on a resume. In either case it is of little consequence and not worth the time Demagogue Donald has conned us into spending on it.

Trashy Trump is turning our whole political process into garbage. Worse, his self-obsession and his conviction that his "common-sense" overrides the Constitution are indications that his presidency might have more in common with leaders like Peron, Marcos, Franco, and Mussolini than with any of our prior presidents.

What do you want to call Trump with his millions lies...

Scott Brown accused Elizabeth Warren of checking a box claiming Native American ancestry to get hired or get some preferential treatment. Elizabeth Warren denies this, and there's no proof that she ever did that...She says her family lore was that there was a Native American ancestor--probably Cherokee. Of course Donald Trump can't get his mind around the fact that someone of (partial) Native American descent might be blonde. So to him, it's hilarious to call Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas." He doesn't understand why it's objectionable and ignorant.
He's the only one who's not tired of it by now.

Somehow, she got credited with being a minority in a legal directory. It appears that she chose to do this. Interesting that she did this later in her career--but before her Harvard hire.

My understanding is she did, in an effort to meet others with tribal roots. Much like Elizabeth Warren, my family too spoke of some ancient ancestors that were part of the Seneca nation. But I never in a million years would pass myself off as Native American. That 's offensive to the Native Americans. I think she did try to pass herself off, but not sure she did it with ill intent.

Pretty exhaustive article on Elizabeth Warren and possible native American ancestry.

So when should we expect Trump to denounce Dan Snyder as a racist?
