Best hotel you have ever stayed at?

Other than that, perhaps the JK Place in Capri, the Ritz Carlton in NYC or the Copacabana Palace in Rio.

That's the suite they showed recently on real housewives of Beverly Hills

I got cheap tastes and the best hotel was the Hampton inn in Williamsburg. We were going to Busch gardens. It was brand new and immaculant. We had a great time and I had 2 cousins with my 2 kids Was convenient. Had a big pool. Was perfectly clean. Great breakfast with real eggs and bacon back then.

Perfect experience for parent with young teenagers

This makes me sad. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in SES three years ago. It was HORRIBLE! I was so disappointed. Mold in our shower, tired rooms, mediocre food. We had talked about staying at the FS, but thought the Ritz would be "fine". (Should have been much better than fine for the price!). Now, I know we missed out!

With kids - 4 room cabin at the Greenbrier. It says cabin but it's is definitely not a cabin.

When were you at Kamp? Since it has become a Starwood property, I feel like the quality has decreased. Best burger and fries in Helsinki, though!

Best Hotel prekids - Four Season Mauritius. Amazing. Also amazing was Singita Sabi Sands in South Africa, but not a typical hotel.
Best hotel with kids - a newly designed room at the Sanderling in the OBX, believe or not!

OP here. I started this thread in hopes of finding some ideas of places to go this summer. Sanderling may be a good choice as a road trip.

OP, there are only a couple of these redesigned rooms that I know of (at least as of two summers ago). It's a king room and we put in a crib. It worked well for us because it has a full balcony and a really nice bathroom (small, but very nice), a wet bar with fridge, shutters, wood floors, etc. I wouldn't be able to make it work now with a 5 year old because of the bed situation. I do recommend the Sanderling overall, though! Great pools for both kids and adults, nice beach, good food on site, etc. We stayed two years in a row for almost a week in the same room. Trying the DE beaches this year.

Taj Malabar in Cochin India. I had a gorgeous two room suite. The bathroom was amazing. Most hotel I stay in for work are pretty fantastic but when you get an upgrade it is heaven.

Last year I stayed in the ITC Chola in Chennai. Every day housekeeping left me an animal made from towels. I really loved them and left notes so it seemed he try to outdo himself every day. The last day there was an alligator the length of the bed with rose petals for the scales.

I know people here hate India but the hospitality can't be beat.

We went with our kids! Great place for kids too. We had a suite with two bedrooms and a living room in between. Swim up bar at the family pool. We did have to miss the adults only pool.

The best chain hotel was The Peninsula, Chicago (executive suite).

But really, the most fantastic hotel I ever stayed at was a privately owned one in a Renaissance-era palazzo in Rome. It was so special.
