Truly, this person comes out every six months or so and tries to drag down Lon Solomon and McLean Bible church. It's annoying. I don't even attend there but know of Jill's House and all the good they do so post that. If you want to see his old threads just google "McLean Bible Church Lon Solomon DCUrbanmoms" and you'll see the pattern. Over and over with the libel. He really has a problem with large, successful evangelical churches. I suspect it's a neighbor who hates the traffic in that area of Route 7 on Sundays.
whoever it is, you could shut them up by posting the numbers. If they gave them to you, why not put this to bed?

Because where there's smoke, there's fire, and megachurches are always having to put out this scandal or that. That's what you get with shallow beliefs.
Scandals? What scandals?

Call the office and just ask them are not the same as looking at federal filings made under risk of perjury.

It is a legitimate question whether a church is adequately using its funding. Many churches have not.

I'm wondering why so many are angered by and defensive about the question.

I am 60 and have seen an incredible number of wealthy ministers. They may not have cheated or stolen, but they sure payed themselves well to do God's work.

Jerry Fallwell, Pat Robertson and Billy Graham all became very wealthy doing God's work.

Lon Solomon was just on WUSA9 with Bruce Johnson.

+1. Let's not forget Creflo Dollar (with his new G6) and Joel Osteen.

Lon Solomon is not guilty by association, sorry, detractors.

Let's have transparency in salaries, etc. and we will know whether they are good actors or not.

The clean programs should have no problem disseminating their filings.

PP, it's none of your business what other people earn. A salary is determined by fair market vaue of services rendered. Quit being a busy body and mind your own business.

Every indication is that Lon's salary is north of $500k

Wrong. Because of their tax exempt status, that information is everyone's business.

Further, if their salary is determined by fair market then in theory the market knows its value, making it a non-private matter.

I'm very curious as to why you are so hostile about this matter. I would imagine other readers are as well.

Apparently he decided he could make more money as a megachurch pastor than as a drug dealer.

LOLLLL. The two "professions" really aren't that different, if you think about it.

Watched it live streaming tonight at 6:30pm on my laptop. You can watch tomorrow at 9:00a, 10:45a, and 12:30p and see for yourselves how blessed people are who attend!

I find it hilarious how much people go out of their way to bash megachurches when 99% of them have never even been in one. I guess it's easier to make ignorant assumptions than it is to learn the facts about something.
