Huh, because they don't pay taxes. |

OP, these posts about McLean Bible Church are getting old. You know the answers. For others who don't, OP didn't even bother with wikipedia:
Ministries Live webcasts — McLean Bible Church offers live online streams of its Sunday services. Access Ministry — McLean Bible Church’s ministry to children with special needs. Access programming includes Sunday school, parent support and training sessions, summer camp, sibling events, and monthly respite care programs. Jill’s House — An overnight respite care center for children with special needs. The inspiration for the $18.5 million center is Pastor Lon Solomon’s daughter, Jill.[3] Jill's House is located on the property of the McLean Bible Church Tysons Campus. Kid's Quest – The McLean Bible Church children's ministry for newborn through fifth grade. KidsQuest is divided into three primary age categories: Newborns/Toddlers, Preschool, and Elementary. City Impact – City Impact programs include The Clothing Shop, Daily Bread Food Pantry and Career Network Ministry. The Rock – McLean Bible Church's ministry for high school and junior high school students. The Rock hosts Sunday morning services, a Wednesday night services, and multiple regional “house groups”. "Not a Sermon, Just a Thought" - A radio ministry broadcast via multiple radio stations in the Washington, DC region. For a percentage, yes, all that was just distributed at services. Call the office and they will tell you. What is your real beef with McLean Bible? And Lon's Salary? Your next move is to call the church a "cult". And then go off on the non-taxes argument (see immediately above). |
| Whatever their finances, I'm sure they spend their money more wisely than the US government, without a $19 trillion debt. |
Ask her your questions. |
No, not really. Not anymore than being invited to the "Day of Reason" rally. |
Huh? Of course asking someone to go to a rally is recruiting. And so is asking someone to cone to your church, outside of very specific circumstances. When you try and get someone to join an activity or adopt a mindset you are recruiting them. |
So? They do more good and public service than government, certainly. |
The government tried to recruit my taxes |
+1. A tremendous amount of good. Their ministry to the special needs community, alone, is a huge benefit. They saw a unique need and spent $18.5 million on it. My own church doesn't do that. |

Www.notasermon.org Definitely an uplifting ministry! |
Truly, this person comes out every six months or so and tries to drag down Lon Solomon and McLean Bible church. It's annoying. I don't even attend there but know of Jill's House and all the good they do so post that. If you want to see his old threads just google "McLean Bible Church Lon Solomon DCUrbanmoms" and you'll see the pattern. Over and over with the libel. He really has a problem with large, successful evangelical churches. I suspect it's a neighbor who hates the traffic in that area of Route 7 on Sundays. whoever it is, you could shut them up by posting the numbers. If they gave them to you, why not put this to bed? |
whoever it is, you could shut them up by posting the numbers. If they gave them to you, why not put this to bed? Because where there's smoke, there's fire, and megachurches are always having to put out this scandal or that. That's what you get with shallow beliefs. |
+1. A church is not a grant-giving foundation |
| They do have a program called Jill's House that is run apart from the church, is a nonprofit and a good cause. http://jillshouse.org/ |
