My neighbor has seemingly shoveled snow all night long-explain this to me

+1. He shoveled at 11 and again at 6? That's not shoveling "all night long". Stop being dramatic.

Yep. The neighbor is smart.

The OP is a douche.

Yep, We have a young retiree brigade on my court who practically race each other to shovel first, take in their garbage cans first, etc. One of them even sweeps the street. They are basically batshit crazy.

I will trade "batshit crazy" neighbors with you. You can have my loud music-playing, dog shit leaving, trash scattering, wall-pounding, whiny, lazy, can't be bothered to even say "hello" neighbors. I'd take your kind of "crazy" any day!

Or, maybe he simply prefers to shovel smaller amounts of snow rather than 30" at once.

I don't get people like you.

I don't get judgy people like this either. Get a life. Focus on what you're doing or not doing.

+1. I have a retired neighbor who is extremely diligent about stuff like this. I think it's great! He has the time and he likes to use it keeping on top of things. If he knows I am sick or busy, he helps me out too, and I do the same for him. People like this are the kind of neighbors I want to have!

I'm mid thirties and in pretty good shape. I shoveled twice yesterday and my husband shoveled this morning. It's way easier and more enjoyable to shovel often with lighter loads than all at on later. Also, it brings some solitude if your family is getting annoying.

You might need better Windows if this wakes you up. Or at least a white noise machine. My sleep deepened when I started using mine.

Just came in after my first shoveling of the morning, after having shoveled twice yesterday (last time about 9 last night). I wish wish wish I had followed your neighbor's lead.
learn from him OP.

Yes, it did.

I'm doing the same. My back has been killing me lately but my legs are fine. So I can clear the same area of small amounts numerous times but I can't snovel 10' at a time.

Anonymous wrote:Op you are the idiot, not him. It was recommended on the news, that you shovel in parts. It's as simple as lifting a 5 lb shovel of light snow or 15 lbs of wet, heavy snow.

I shoveled 2x last night & the snow was neither heavy nor wet. I shovel b/c it's awesome to be outside in snow!

I enjoy it. Very satisfying. 18 inches is too much for me in. One shift, but I like getting out there every two hours.

How much noise can a guy with a shovel possibly make?

Yes, it did.

Made it easier for us. We were out at ten, too. The snow certainly blew and covered what we'd done the night before, but it wasn't as packed and weighed less.

He's got nothing else to challenge himself with, OP. Consider this bored and self-centered man with one foot in the grave with all the pity you can muster.

Sorry about your sleep.

Shoveled last night at 6 and 11. Shoveled at 7 this morning.
I swear I have the most sidewalk in the neighborhood.
