Somehow, I doubt many of these posters act properly in real life. |
| My MIL always takes off full rolls of toilet paper in our house and turns them around so that they pull from the bottom instead of the top. It's not even that she replaces an empty one to pull the other way -- she turns them around when there is no reason to disturb them. |
I'll join you on this one. MIL does this at her house, but she's recently been visiting more often due to our new baby and sat on the couch with her bare feet bent along side of her. She then proceeded to touch her feet (seemingly not conscious of it--hoping, at least as that is gross). I kept DC away from her the rest of the visit, but was prepared to ask her to rewash her hands if she wanted to hold the baby again. |
I can't even imagine what kind of gross person would put her purse on a public restroom floor... |
I'm pretty anal retentive, but some of you people are just plain nuts. Trust me, your little snowflake will survive. I hope you understand that you are alienating your MIL for a really petty reason. If she is kind to you, your husband, and your children, then you should count your blessings.

Sometimes when my husband has just returned from a work trip, I'll go into our bedroom to find that he has placed his small rolling suitcase on the made bed to unpack it. GROSS It is a foul thing that has been in foul places: metro, taxi, airport, airport men's rooms, city streets. YUCK, on my BED |
| My FIL brought some pastries in for breakfast, and proceeded to cut them up. He held them with his left hand and cut them with his right hand. At least 3 times during the process, he licked the fingers of his left hand and then continued holding the pastry steady with that hand. I was disgusted and could not eat a bite of the pastries. So of course he was offended. I wanted to tell him I didn't want a saliva glaze on my bearclaw. But then he would have been REALLY offended. |

I hated when my MIL was in town "helping out" after I had dc 2. She asked me to tell her how to do my laundry then criticized how I did it. (I don't put fabric softeners on my towels because it will ruin them.)
She also refused to help with my 2 year old so I ended up having to pick him up and put him down for naps. I had a c-section! I was lifting my 2 year old because she wouldn't, hours after returning home from the hospital. Uh, thanks for the help! I would rather clean and do laundry than lift my kid after a c-section. |
FYI fabric softener won't ruin them. It may temporarily slightly reduce absorbency. But it will wash out. |
+1 I can't believe some of these posts on here.. Especially the feet touching one. Makes me dread becoming a MIL someday. |
Stay in a hotel. You'll get points for that. |
Suggestion. Cling wrap them |
ok that's nuts |
| My ILs leave a trail of crumbs, Splenda crystals, empty wine glasses, and empty coffee cups all over the house. They're like Hansel and Gretel leaving their trail of crumbs through the forest. |
+1. The better question is who doesn't do that? |
