Hating Jon and Kate plus 8

I'm curious too...what's rumored about the oldest Dugger son--he just got married, right?

Kate was Octomom's inspiration!

Wow. You are judgmental and miserable. I don't know anyone who would selectively reduce their multiples.

There are several valid reasons to selectively reduce multiples.

First, if you don't reduce multiples in a large pregnancy (more than three), there is a large risk that ALL the babies may be miscarried. That's why doctors recommend selective reduction.

There is also a risk to the mother in every multiple pregnancy.

Not everyone has the resources to support a family of 8, or 12, or whatever. Do you really want to be the Octomom.

Many, many people selectively reduce their multiples.

I started my pregnancy with triplets and decided not to selectively reduce. I ended up with one child, as it turned out, and I really mourned losing the other babies. Many people do not choose to selectively reduce, especially if they've gone through many years of IF and they get early ultrasounds that show multiple hearts beating.

My bigger point is that the PP wrote a ridiculous post about how she HATED Jon and Kate because they didn't selectively reduce because of religious reasons.

Now THAT is a sad statement to make. Why is she so filled with hate about someone else's decision - or religion - especially when things worked out so well for them? Or maybe that's WHY she's so angry and "hates" them. Because they are different from her but living a good life.

Here's my point: I don't judge people for wanting babies (except maybe crazy Octomom of course, but that's just because she's apparently insane). And I don't judge people for their religious views (unless they are very extreme and/or hateful.)

I know this is going to sound crazy but my babysitter told me about the rumor about Jon's big night out. Apparently when she heard the rumor she talked to her friend at Juniata College who said that she wasn't at the party he was at but she saw him on campus. Big stuff..

Jon's night out. Big whoop.

Now, Jim Bob's night out. That's something I could sink my teeth into.

Your critical reading skills need some serious fine tuning. Where did I say I hated J&K b/c of their religious views? I made a STATEMENT in response to someone calling the Duggars religious nuts as compared to J&K. J&K are also supposedly "conservative Christians". If you knew my personal religious views, you would realize how miserably mistaken you are with your quick jump to conclusions just because you carry around personal baggage regarding your loss.

My husband is a RE and I promise you that many people choose to selectively reduce (yes, even triplets), it is just not a choice that people run around telling everyone about. J&K have a happy ending, most people who carry 4 or more babies compromise all of the babies and often times the story is not like J&K, but end with serious disabilities or premature death. Not everyone can afford a litter of children and have to reduce or else become impoverished. I wish TLC would show the down side of this choice.

I dislike J&K because they are scammers and go around to rural churches where the people don't know better and ask for "love offerings".

I'm not jealous of J&Ks "good life". My husband could transfer 1,000 embryos inside of me and we could have a TV show as well (though we certainly don't need it, as the infertility business is a good one to be in).

So you shut it.

Ugh, did I say shut up when I posted the link? Um, no I did not. All I did was post a link to the story. Did not say it was true or not either. So how about being nice?

I like the Duggars. They seem like kind, decent people who are able (unlike wacky octomom) to provide for their numerous children.
I have no opinion on Jon and Kate. Can't blame them though for milking their celebrity when they've got 8 mouths to feed.

Oh.My.God. I can not believe you just said that. With several people on this board who have fertility problems, you would go ahead and say something like this. Unbelievable. Perhaps you need to do some reflection, and figure out when you became so focused on the dollar. The money you are receiving comes from the hopes and dreams of others, why don't you think about them and the suffering they go through.

22:05 - not directed toward you. Someone posted "shut it" so that was in response to her.

Even worse, she said it to someone who said they had started their pregnancy with triplets and lost two of the babies.

After going through five years of infertility, it is my dream to someday start a foundation that raises money to pay for IVFs. I got pg on my fourth IUI - five days before my $10k check was due to Shady Grove for IVF. None was covered by insurance. THAT is why she and her DH are enjoying that fact that "the infertility business is a good one to be in."

I believe the oldest Duggar boy was accused of molesting his younger siblings. That family is absolutely sick. Anytime you teach a woman her self worth is wrapped up in her un-used vagina I see some future self worth/esteem issues. I wouldnt feed that shit to my children and I'm a freaking late blooming conservative who didnt get laid until mid 20's

I could not find any actual news on the subject but did find another forum discussing the allegations. Very sad if they are true.

Q. Is it true that the oldest Duggar son Josh molested some of his sisters?
A. If you google "Duggar molestation" you get about 5,000 results. "Josh Duggar molestation" comes up with almost 2,000. No one knows for sure, it's just a rumor and its origins are sketchy. Supposedly Oprah had filmed an episode of her show all about the family, but later found out about Josh's molestation charges and would not let the episode be aired. The only sources come from an internet forum, therefore it's probably just a rumor.

My biggest beef now with Jon and Kate is their hypocrisy. They started the show saying they are portraying life it is living with multiples. They don't show anything that isn't falst..blah blah blah..

Now everything is handed to them free and they do an hour long commercial of it. For instance, now they are having FREE solar panels put on their house and you know it's for free and they are doing a one hour advertisement of it. Dont' get me wrong, i believe in the product, but now that's what the show has become. One long episode of whatever they are focused on or whichever company or place they are being paid by. Another episode when they moved into their mansion, she spend good 10 minutes talking about her new washer and dryer. Camera focused on teh label every other shot as she talked about it. ...I'm in marketing so it's a little self hating here but when advertising placement becomes this obvious you know the shows authenticity is lost.

I hope people stop watching the show and it dies it's natural death.
