Mine is now two and I do have more time for my personal interests. I run/yoga multiple times a week,Joined a book group and go out with friends once a week too. DH and I are able to travel a lot with one kid only including internationally and that is truly the one passion we share so it's important. Keep looking a job and focus on the positives of your family of three.

+100, This is exactly me! OP, I felt very much like you did the first year w/ my DS. After the first year things started to improve and I am in a much better place. I am however well aware that my husband and I should only have one child, if we were to have more than that, I would be asking for a divorce. I don't think he or I could make it through another pregnancy and child. I am content being the mother of an only child. He is now almost 3. I also grew up an only child and certainly do not feel "lonely" or that I missed out on anything. Your child will be fine if they are an only. GL to you and I hope you land in a better spot soon!

But I have to add: if you don't have PPD, you are blaming way too much on your situation and need to get out of the victim mentality. I don't think everyone can pull themselves by the boot straps but you are fine: you, your kid and your DH are healthy, you are not bankrupt, your Dh is a kind man. wow, yeah you can't live only for yourself because you chose to have a child. You knew that OP, now you have responsabilities toward this child, you owe your DC to make every efforts in the world to be a happy mother (which in your case obviously mean going back to work presto) and you need to make damn sure that you don't let your DC see how much you resent the fact that you need to take care of him.

I kind of hope you are 19 years old because imagining someone older writing this post is depressing

Amen. I once heard a washed up 36 yr old who thought she was hot say " yeah, I did the kid thing, now I am back on me." I was mid twenties and as far from kids as you could imagine and I just wanted to tell her, "sorry, the re is no way to turn back the clock. I feel sorry for your kids and ex husband." She had even had plastic surgery. It was so so so lame. And she looked every minute it her age and more. No I ne I retesting wants a desperate 40 yr old convinced she looks 25. She was flirting with all the married men in the office. It was soooooo gross.

Op, don't be that woman. Get a grip. Dear lord you sound pathetic.
