How do you and DH spend your evenings, after the kids are in bed?

We eat dinner with DD so we are just vegging once the baby is asleep. Sometimes we eat dessert and wine after we put her to bed. Sometimes work and go to bed. Sometimes talk, watch a show together..then go upstairs to talk some more read a book and lull ourselves to sleep.

DH goes to bed at 8 pm, or watches TV by himself until about 10 pm and then bed for him. I hop onto my laptop as soon as kids are asleep 8:30 pm, and then work from 11 pm, then bed.

Does anybody else's husband fall asleep wtih the kids???

No.

Have you considered getting her to sleep without someone holding her? Would probably be a positive thing for your marriage - to have that time to catch up and be together!

We both sit on our laptops while watching tv, talking and having a glass of wine.

Like everyone else, we work on computer. But I have about 1-2 hours of work to do every night so it's mandatory! We order take out or prepare dinner and then we watch some shows on the DVR. Some nights we do a run to Whole Foods to get us through the week. Once or twice a week, we go out to dinner together. Then around 11:00 I prepare lunch and bottles for babies for the next day. I pump one more time, clean up kitchen and in bed by 1:00AM. It's exhausting!

MY DH does the dishes, washes the floor, vacumns the upstairs, calls his mother, calls my mother, gets me a glass of wine, massages my feet, makes passionate, orgasmic love to me, and then cleans up afterwards. I wish we had more of this type of this "quality time" together but we do have quadruplets and 5 other children to keep up with. Still, it works for us somehow.

We talk and/or watch tv. I wish for sex but a day after managing a toddler and an infant, I can barely keep my eyes open for 30 minutes in front of the tv.

OK, I am shutting down my computer already and going upstairs to talk to DH. This thread is making me feel depressed!

Such an annoying response!

My DH falls asleep with our DSs too! I usually watch TV for a couple of hours or read. We're going to move both kids to their own room soon, so I don't mind this rigamorale. It's temporary. He comes back out on weekends (sometimes I have to wake him up) and we talk, watch movies and have some fun trying for #3

This is us EXACTLY. It's so funny how similar all of our lives are!

This is us exactly also, except that DD goes to bed closer to 8:00 and we sometimes watch more than one Tivo'd show.

We all eat dinner together. Then we read a book and go to sleep soon after DC does.

Why? It's something that "drives her crazy" so why not try and fix it? No child "requires" someone to hold them...unless she has some sort of medical condition that I don't know about. It's healthy for kids to figure out how to sleep on their own. Will they be holding her when she's 10 and can't sleep? I just don't think it makes for a healthy marriage.

We listen to an audiobook together a few nights a week while doing a puzzle - but average about 3 nights a week on our computer like everyone else
